It was reported that an alliance was formed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), African Democratic Congress (ADC), Social Democratic Party (SDP), Peoples Allied Movement (PAM), New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Young Progressives Party (YPP), and Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), on Wednesday in Abuja at the National Secretariat of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

 

In response, Felix Morka, the APC national publicity secretary, said, “We are not concerned about that.” He added, “Whatever they (opposition) do is their business, and they should justify themselves before Nigerians.”

 

Morka acknowledged the APC’s own formation from various parties in 2013 but said the party would not be distracted by the new move by the “opposition elements.”

 

This follows a proposal made in November by the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, for the opposition to unite due to concerns about the country’s potential slide into a one-party state.
