Emefiele pleaded not guilty to a six-count amended charge brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The bail hearing has been adjourned to November 22, and the judge will study the authorities and peruse the exhibits submitted by Emefiele to support his request for bail before delivering a bench ruling. Mathew Burkaa SAN, Emefiele’s lead counsel, had moved the application for bail which was vehemently opposed by Rotimi Oyedepo on behalf of the Federal Government.
