San Marino Baseball Dominates BSC Grosseto with Two Victories: Game Report

Here is the long-awaited report regarding the two San Marino Baseball matches against BSC Grosseto. Enjoy the reading!

After the knockout in game 1, San Marino bounces back in style, signing two victories over BSC Grosseto on Saturday in Serravalle (11-7; 11-5) and flying to the solitary first place at the top of the rankings.

Pascoli and Kourtis are the winners of the two games, but this time the batters take the stage with home runs.

There are five homers in a few hours: one for Angulo, Alvarez and Celli, while two for Tromp and one of these is a grand slam.

WE ARE 2 – The team finds the attack again after a complicated game 1 and ends up winning 11-7, collecting 14 hits against the 11 from Grosseto.

San Marino goes ahead, hitting the double with Diaz in the 2nd, the single with Celli, the 1-0 on a wild pitch and the 2-0 on Di Fabio’s hit. Grosseto, after coming close to scoring in the first two innings, does so in the third and surpasses. With two outs and the man on first, Aloma earns a base ball and Mercuri, immediately after, hits double the tie (2-2). On the momentum, here is also Giordani’s valid 3-2.

In the bottom half, Alvarez’s bases-full single brings the points to 4-3, while in the 4th the BSC goes to 4-4 with hits from Sellaroli and Leonora. It’s a continuous back and forth, but when the players change sides the San Marino move is energetic. The game changes with a home run, the three-run homer from Angulo. It’s 7-4 San Marino, with the advantage even doubling in the 5th with hits from Pieternella, Lopez, Di Fabio (8-4), a wild throw (9-4) and Ferrini’s sprint (10-4).

The match is well directed, but BSC tries everything and halves the deficit thanks to Aloma’s three-run home run in the 6th (7-10). Alvarez hits a solo homer to make it 11-7 and in the final, Pascoli closes and also wins the victory. First San Marino victory of the weekend.

GARA3 – The last match of the series goes up and down. It is irregular, with various favorable moments alternating between one team and the other. Our team seems in control with the two points scored between 2nd and 3rd. After three innings without conceding any points, in the 4th De Leon was in difficulty and the guests took advantage of the situation to turn the result around with four scores. You get on base in series. The initial doubles by Aloma and Mercuri for the 1-2, the single by Giordani, the base by Cinelli and the rebound by Luciani for the 2-2. However, there is still balance, in the score and in the facts. And then, to break it, Jiandido Tromp takes care of it, who after the base to Di Fabio hits his second home run of the evening, this time for four runs. It’s a grand slam that sends the team up 10-5 and galvanizes them enormously ahead of the final.

In the 6th it is Federico Celli who sends it out of the fences (11-5) and San Marino flies away. Kourtis no longer has any problems and the team wins an important victory that lifts them alone to the top of the rankings.

Pont-Saint-Esprit Town Hall Organizes Paralympic Games Day for Students

As part of its “Land of Games Paris 2024” label, the Community and Sports Life office of the Pont-Saint-Esprit town hall organized a day around the Paralympic Games last Monday at Clos Bon-Aure.

Thus, all the CM1 and CM2 pupils in the town, i.e. 250 children, were able to practice Paralympic sports thanks to the equipment provided by the Gard handisport committee: goalball, judo and long race with guide for visually impaired people, wheelchair basketball and sprint for motor impaired people. They were also able to talk with the Spiripontain motorcycle rider Matthieu Lefebvre, who himself has a disability.

On the outdoor courts at Wimbledon, some matches have to be interrupted again due to the rain.

Playful and with fast legs: Carlos Alcaraz thrilled the crowd on Centre Court when he reached the quarter-finals at Wimbledon – but then found himself in danger at times. The 21-year-old defending champion was the more complete professional in the almost three-hour duel with the aggressive Frenchman Ugo Humbert and won 6:3, 6:4, 1:6, 7:5.

A loss of tension in the third set cost Alcaraz an even quicker win, but Humbert then played well and sensed his chance of a surprise. After that, however, the Spaniard improved again and made it to the quarter-finals. There he will face Tommy Paul (USA) or Roberto Bautista Agut (ESP).

The world number one Jannik Sinner stopped the winning streak of American tennis pro Ben Shelton at Wimbledon. The 22-year-old Italian won in the round of 16 with 6:2, 6:4, 7:6 (11:9). In the fight for a place in the round of the best four, Sinner will face former US Open winner Daniil Medvedev from Russia or Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov.
