The first round of the women’s Olympic golf tournament has concluded in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, at Le Golf National to be precise. And in France there is at least something to smile about, because Celine Boutier tries to swell an already valiant palmares by sending signals to all her opponents. -7 her score today on the Parisian course, which already brings her to have an important advantage over her opponents.

The first news concerns the advantage over the second, the South African Ashleigh Buhai: three shots. There are four, instead, on the third, the Mexican Gaby Lopezwho shares her score with the tournament’s co-favorite, the American Lilia VuSwitzerland Morgane Metraux and the Colombian Maria Uribe. And the number of seventh teams at -1 is also large: the Norwegian Celine Borgewho had been the main protagonist in the morning, the Chinese Xiyu Janet Linthe indian Diksha Dagarthe Australian Minjee Leethe Japanese Miyu Yamashita and the Canadian one Alena Sharp.

The second piece of news concerns the difficulties of many big teams, at least at the beginning of the journey (even if they then improve as the day goes on). Thirteenth place for the USA Rose Zhang and Nelly Korda (world number 1), who are tied with par as the New Zealander Lydia Kowhile one of the potential protagonists, the South Korean, is at +1 Jin Young Ko. +2, instead, for the Canadian Brooke Henderson and the Swedish one Linn Grantwhile the Japanese is at +5 Yuka Saso and even the British at +9 Charley Hull. As far as Italy is concerned, it can even complain Alexandra Fanali for the triple bogey on hole 1. This is because, in the rest of the course, she basically keeps the pace of the group with Korda and Zhang. The fact that she is at +3, in 36th place, in this situation and with so many difficulties to go under par means that her condition is there, and that she can go even faster than the predictions said.
