Universal Style Co., Ltd. Representative Director Yusuke Hatsuse Lecture | Tokyo Jusen Blog | Kyobungen Educational Corporation Tokyo Judo Therapy College

On September 24th, Yusuke Hatsuse, CEO of Universal Style Co., Ltd., gave a lecture as part of a class on Paralympic Games“>adapted sports (new sports that can be easily enjoyed mainly by people with disabilities and the elderly).

Mr. Hatsuse participated in the Beijing Paralympic Games as a visually impaired judo athlete, and Universal Style Co., Ltd., where he is currently the CEO, provides consulting services for the employment of people with disabilities.

Mr. Hatsuse gave lectures on a wide range of topics, including his own experience of becoming visually impaired, his encounter with judo for visually impaired people, his involvement with the Paralympics and parasports, and the current environment surrounding visually impaired people. I did.

We were also able to see the medals from the Asian Games and the World Games.

This course was held in the morning, afternoon, and evening, giving students a valuable opportunity to become familiar with the world of visually impaired people.

●Voices of students

・This special lecture made me realize that there is a prejudice that people with disabilities cannot do anything.

・When providing support, I would like to make sure to communicate properly and confirm what they want me to do before providing support.

・There were so many positive comments from Mr. Hatsuse that I wondered if I would be able to say something like that if I were in the position of someone who had acquired vision loss. READ FULL STORY HERE>>>CLICK HERE TO CONTINUE READING>>>

・First of all, the image of visually impaired people has completely changed. I felt it was difficult to reach out to them because I didn’t know how to support them. Up until now, when I encountered a white cane, my only thought was to not block my path. Since each person’s perspective is different, I decided to first ask the person in question and then try to guide them in a way that would make them feel at ease. This time I thought I’d call out to you.

・If I had the opportunity to be involved in the Paralympic Games, I would like to take on the challenge.

It was a valuable lecture that left a strong impression on the students.
Mr. Hatsuse, thank you very much for taking the time out of your busy schedule.
