The devil will not confront you directly (1). He prefers to spread false information in order to see you and others hurt. However, you will notice that these opponents give up when God is on your side. Some of them may even admit their wrongdoing and beg for mercy.

The narrative of Joseph and his brothers in the Bible is instructive in this regard. After selling Joseph into slavery in Egypt for several years, his brothers were finally willing to take responsibility for their actions. Joseph claims in Genesis 50:20 that God worked in their favor even though they had evil intentions.
