Brazilian Pivot Marcio Silva Joins Bathco BM Torrelavega for Next Season: Seventh and Final Signing

He Bathco BM Torrelavega y Marcio Silva They have reached an agreement for the incorporation of the Brazilian pivot to the club for next season. The player will complete the pivot position alongside Jokin Aja and Borja Lombilla and thus becomes the seventh and last signing of the club for the next course.

Coming from the Angel Ximenez Puente Genil, Silva lands in Torrelavega with a step well known in the ASOBAL League. He arrived at the Pontano team in 2019 and, since then, he has become one of the most feared defenders in the Spanish handball elite. Not in vain, the player has been nominated twice for best defender in the competition, the most recent being this season. Despite his specialist role, Silva also has a good percentage of success in his offensive breakouts, ensuring he scores his goal in every game.

Silva values his arrival at Torrelavega very positively, highlighting that “I was looking for a change, new challenges, and the club has an ambitious project that catches my attention”, something that he points out is “very beneficial for my career”. The Brazilian admits that he has been paying attention to the club in recent years and that “the good structure of the project and his intentions to go further are important to me.”

Marcio also wanted to point out “the fans, they have an exciting fan base and when I was at Vicente Trueba with my old club you could really see their passion for the sport and the club”. In his own words, Silva is “very competitive and disciplined, I always strive to improve and contribute as much as possible to the team”. Looking ahead to next season, Silva emphasises that “we have a very good and competitive squad, with everyone’s effort, I am confident we will achieve our goals and experience very exciting moments”. Jacobo Cuétara says that “I have been following Marcio’s development for years and he has become one of the best defenders in the league.” Cuétara describes him as “a player who is very difficult to beat in 1v1, he is explosive, fast and tactically very good,” recalling that “he can also play offensive roles, where he has a lot of room for development.” The Asturian concludes that “Marcio is going to give us a lot of consistency in our defensive system.”

Marcio da Silva Maildo becomes the seventh and last signing for the orange team for the next season. With him, the squad is completed along with the signings of Ángel Fernández, Nicolai Colunga, Jakub Prokop, Juanjo Fernández, Asier Pedroarena, Leo Tercariol and the renewals and continuations announced during the season.

It is a tragedy for Moroccan football. Five players from Ittihad Tangier have disappeared at sea during a yacht trip.

Communication with the boat was lost while five Ittihad Tangier players, including a first-team member and several hopefuls, were on board.

According to local media Le360, the passengers jumped into the water to swim, and strong winds then pushed the yacht away from the water. The Royal Gendarmerie and the Royal Navy managed to save three players, found more than 800 meters from the shore after an hour and a half of searching. Two other people are still missing. A little drama unfolded on Court 1 at Wimbledon this Sunday. Madison Keys, in tears, had to resign herself to abandoning against Jasmine Paolini while she had narrowly escaped victory a few minutes earlier, leading 5-2 double break before injuring her left thigh and having to give up continuing this spectacular and emotional fight. The American, who had just conceded an ace, preferred to leave it there after 2 hours and 23 minutes of play, losing 6-3, 6-7(6), 5-5 (15-A) and letting her opponent slip away to her first quarter-final at Wimbledon. She will face another American, Coco Gauff or Emma Navarro.

The Roland-Garros finalist came within two points of victory in the deciding game of a second set that was already full of twists and turns, as she came back from 5-1, 40-15 down before losing on the wire. We thought we had settled the score. But that was without her extraordinary fighting spirit. And without the bad luck that struck Madison, of course. At 5-4, the latter left the court for a long medical timeout during which she had her left adductor strapped. But we quickly saw upon her return, when she could barely walk and push off on her legs, that it would be complicated. She tried to close on her serve but, once it was lost on a double fault, it was a lost cause.

A stroke of luck for the Italian but she fully deserves the good fortune that is currently accompanying her. She who had never won a match on grass before this year therefore follows a semi-final in Eastbourne with a first quarter-final here. She is the fifth Italian to reach the “big 8” in London after Laura Golarsa (1989), Silvia Farina Elia (2003), Francesca Schiavone (2009) and Camila Giorgi (2018).
