Wherever he serves, he still causes a stir! Tennis legend John McEnroe (65) is famous for his sporting duels – and for his choleric outbursts.

Now the three-time Wimbledon winner is celebrating his comeback at the prestigious competition: in an 80s look with a curly wig! The most famous tennis tournament in the world (June 24 to July 14) is currently taking place in London. And McEnroe is on site in retro style for a commercial shoot.

Visually, he’s a real ace! That’s exactly how he looked when he won the Men’s Singles Finals in 1981, aged 22.

The sports star also appears without a wig to prove that it is really him. John McEnroe, the man who divided the tennis world. For many he was “Ugly John”, “Super-Brat” or “Big Mouth John”. The bully who smashed rackets and insulted referees.

He had to pay almost 62,000 euros in fines and was the first professional since 1963 to be disqualified from a Grand Slam tournament for insults and unsportsmanlike conduct (1990 at the Australian Open). Today he works as a TV expert for Eurosport and is committed to the rights of disabled people. He also plays concerts with his second wife, rock singer Patty Smyth (67).

Despite his choleric nature, fans loved John McEnroe for his unconventional game. He won seven Grand Slam tournaments, was number 1 in the world rankings for 170 weeks and won a doubles tournament in 2006, 14 years after his retirement. A player with skill, charisma – and cult status.

This year, the hall will be open from 5 p.m. to come and test it and train. The BCK offers equipment loans for these evenings open to all, men or women, licensed or non-licensed, young or adult. “Registration is €4 per player, we will always play doubles for four to six matches, it is possible to come accompanied, otherwise you can find a teammate,” explains the BCK coach. Thierry Henry’s Blues are off to a good start in their preparation for the 2024 Paris Olympics

The French Olympic football team got its preparations for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games off to a good start by dominating Paraguay (4-1) in Bayonne.

In the uncertainty of putting together a coherent and competitive group, Thierry Henry appreciated the first official outing of his Olympic Blues, logical winners of Paraguay (4-1) at the end of a tight match, Thursday evening in Bayonne.

The former Gunner was heading into a bit of the unknown against the Paraguayans, winners of the CONMEBOL 2024 pre-Olympic tournament, notably by eliminating Brazil. Especially after losing Kephren Thuram on Wednesday, banned from participating in the Games by his future club, Juventus, and seeing the South Americans respond, physically, to the tricolor challenge, for a good half hour before dropping off and suffering.

Fortunately, in his Olympic hat, Henry has playmakers and real ball players who, when they are well connected, can do damage. The impression left by Michael Olise, announced insistently on the side of Bayern Munich and who would be, in the event of his departure, a big loss for the French offensive animation, reassured on the potential of the team.

Because the Crystal Palace resident shone on the pitch of the Aviron rugby players, being at the origin or conclusion of all the French situations. And it was on one of his breakthroughs in the middle just before the break, followed by a perfect shift that his club partner Jean-Philippe Mateta, with a flat left foot, equalized (1-1). Opposition of style

Because in this opposition of style against aggressive and tenacious Paraguayans, the defensive errors of the central hinge were costly and this from the start with an opportunistic Juan Salcedo to steal the ball from Castello Lukeba before calmly adjusting Guillaume Restes with a cross shot (3).

The multiple changes made at half-time did nothing to disrupt the French machine. Quite the opposite, especially when seriousness returns to the ranks. An acceleration by Enzo Millot led to a penalty left to Mateta (51) by the +general+ Alexandre Lacazette.

Then when the physical and technical difference finally extinguished the opposing ambitions, Rayan Cherki really came back on track at the end of a rush from Désiré Doué (72). To the delight of the Bayonne public, Adrien Truffert also made a very favorable contribution by offering a caviar to Arnaud Kalimuendo for a final 4-1 summarizing well this successful start to the campaign.

The French team, which will play its second preparation match on Thursday July 11 against the Dominican Republic, will launch its Olympic campaign on July 24 against the United States at the Stade Vélodrome, before facing Guinea in Nice three days later and New Zealand on the 30th again at the Vélodrome.

Jannik Sinner will play on the hallowed turf of Wimbledon on Friday evening for a place in the round of 16. He will be up against a man who has never beaten an absolute top player. But Sinner is forewarned.

Hanfmann, Berrettini, Griekspoor, Shelton, Medvedev or Dimitrov, Alcaraz. Jannik Sinner’s path to the Wimbledon final seemed clear, provided he himself remained victorious. But suddenly he is facing a completely different opponent: Miomir Kecmanovic. The Serb defeated the favored grass-court specialist Griekspoor in five sets in the second round and is now taking on the world number one.

Kecmanovic, who at 24 is two years older than Sinner, has been consistently between places 27 (best ranking) and 60 in the world rankings for around two years. He is currently ranked 52nd in the ATP computer. The fact that his career is stagnating is also due to the fact that he has not made it past the quarter-finals in any tournament this year. However, he has shown a clear improvement in form since the start of the week in Wimbledon. READ FULL STORY HERE>>>CLICK HERE TO CONTINUE READING>>>

Center Court and Prime Time

Even though Kecmanovic is an unknown quantity for many, Sinner knows the man from Belgrade, who was considered a potential successor to Novak Djokovic in his youth, almost inside out. The two faced each other for the first time in 2019 at the NextGen Finals, and twice more in the following years in Cincinnati and Melbourne. They also played against each other in doubles in the Davis Cup. And Sinner always came out on top. Another fact speaks in favor of the tennis star from Sexten: Kecmanovic has never defeated a top 5 player in his career.

The Serb will make another attempt on Friday evening. The match between him and the clear favorite Sinner is scheduled as the third match after 2.30 p.m. (CEST) on Center Court. It is therefore quite possible that Sinner will play at absolute prime time. SportNews will certainly cover the match – regardless of the time – with a live ticker.
