Dutchman Dylan Groenewegen (Jayco-AlUla) won the sixth stage of the Tour de France in a sprint on Thursday July 4 in Dijon, ahead of Belgian Jasper Philipsen, still empty-handed, and Eritrean Biniam Girmay.

Placed on the far left of the road in the final straight, he beat the Belgian Jasper Philipsen, still empty-handed, and Biniam Girmay who is defending his green jersey.

Slovenian Tadej Pogacar retains the yellow jersey, despite some cold sweats when he found himself completely isolated and deprived of teammates during a crash mid-stage.

“It’s such a nice feeling, I’m super happy, especially with the blue-white-red jersey on my shoulders,” commented Groenewegen, the Dutch champion, who at 31 years old won his sixth Tour de France victory, the first since 2022.

“Yesterday I was really disappointed with myself, I didn’t even sprint even though the team had worked so well. Winning means a lot to me. The field is so strong.”

If we extend to the year 2023, the last six mass sprints on the Tour de France have now been won by six different riders.

Last year, Mads Pedersen won in Limoges, Jasper Philipsen in Moulins and Jordi Meeus in Paris.

The disappointment this year is especially true for Philipsen, winner of four stages and green jersey last year, who once again finished second like the day before.

Bronny James’ Weak Summer League Debut for LA Lakers: LeBron Speaks Out

Bronny James makes a weak debut for the LA Lakers in the Summer League. Father LeBron speaks out – and assesses the performance.

While LeBron James is preparing for the Olympic tournament in the US training camp, the NBA superstar’s son, Bronny James, made his debut for the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA Summer League on Saturday.

The 19-year-old’s game in the 94:108 loss to the Sacramento Kings still had room for improvement. In 22 minutes, James contributed four points, two rebounds, two assists and one steal, and only made two of his nine field goal attempts.

In 2003, his father scored 14 points, seven rebounds and six assists in his Summer League debut; the hype back then seemed limitless – in stark contrast to his son now.

“It was more than I expected. I mean, it’s an important game for me, but I didn’t know if people from Golden State would come and cheer for me,” Bronny James said after the game. READ FULL STORY HERE>>>CLICK HERE TO CONTINUE READING>>>

Dad LeBron also spoke out after his son’s performance: “When he plays in the California Classic and the Summer League, it doesn’t matter if he plays well, and it doesn’t matter if he doesn’t play well,” LeBron told reporters at the US basketball team’s training camp.

He just wants him to “continue to develop through practice, filming and individual training. You can’t take the statistics from the California Classic and Summer League into account when the season starts. The only thing that matters is that he gets better and gains days.”

James Jr. was recently drafted 55th overall by the LA Lakers, his father’s team, and could form the first father-son duo in NBA history with his famous father.
