The Heubach Judo Center in Baden-Württemberg was the venue for the Rosenstein Cup tournament for the U9 and U11 age groups. For seven young judoka from TV Kaufbeuren, the event marked their first major sporting trip to a major tournament outside of Bavaria. With a field of 220 young athletes, the Kaufbeuren athletes gained valuable competition experience – and all of them placed on the winners’ podium.

The boys compete outside the Free State for the first time

Department head Dieter Zimmermann was delighted with the performance of his protégés: “After the successful major tournament at Easter in Passau, where all TVK judoka stood on the podium, our young wild ones now also impressed outside of our regional association.” READ FULL STORY HERE>>>CLICK HERE TO CONTINUE READING>>>

Coach Steven Oslath must be sensitive

Coach Steven Oslath, who had supervised the young athletes, mastered the challenge of transforming their nervousness into positive energy. The efforts paid off: In the U9 age group, Julian Keller took first place up to 45 kg. Jona Phil Peters (28.5 kg) and Alexandru Johann Tanasa (38.5 kg) each secured third place. The TVK judoka were also successful in the U11. Georgis Voshchan (up to 30 kg) and Nico Schmid (up to 33 kg) each took first place. Emily Merk (up to 30 kg) in second place and Maria Alfeder (up to 33 kg) in third place completed the impressive result.

Coaches and parents excited

The enthusiasm was not only great among the coaches. The parents, who not only drove the athletes to the tournament but also gave them loud support, were also proud. “It’s great to see that all of our judoka are on the podium again,” summed up Zimmermann. The Rosenstein Cup tournament in Heubach offered the young fighters of the TVK a valuable opportunity to demonstrate their skills and continue to grow. “Their successes confirm the high level of youth work in the Kaufbeuren judo department.”

During the celebration of their victory in the Copa America, the Argentinian players repeated racist chants, heard at the 2022 World Cup, against players of the French team.

Celebrating a title without making a scandal. The Argentinians definitely don’t know how to do it. After their victory in the Copa America final (1-0) against Colombia, on the night of Sunday to Monday, in Miami, Lionel Messi’s teammates obviously celebrated this new title, which came only two years after their victory at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

It was also during the World Cup that the first racist chants, targeting Kylian Mbappé and Eduardo Camavinga in particular, were heard from Argentinian supporters. They play for France but come from Angola… They’re going to run well… They like to fuck trans… Their mother is Nigerian… Their father is Cambodian but on the passport: French”, could be heard live on a national television channel. Two years later, it was on an Instagram live of Chelsea player Enzo Fernandez that we could guess the same song, sung by the Argentinian players present in the bus, a few hours later. When the first notes of the song rang out, the midfielder took care to stop the video. But the damage is already done…

The Brittany championship of Beursault (traditional archery whose origins date back to the Middle Ages) took place on the first weekend of July.

Patrick Provault, a member of the Vernois club Les Archers de Vaugon, won the title of champion of Brittany after winning the previous Prix de Guichen event which took place in June.

The practice of Beursault shooting dates back to the 12th century in order to train archers to ensure the protection of cities, explains the president of US Vern archery, Philippe Campana. The shooting distance is 50 m, the optimal distance for combat shooting. The target, a 48 cm shield, calculated on the size of a man’s pelvis, is positioned 1 m from the ground, corresponding to the height of the joint of the enemy’s armor.
