Those who are experiencing infertility challenges are not always sterile, despite the common usage of the term “sterile” to describe those who cannot have children. With assisted conception, around half of couples have a successful pregnancy without any more medical intervention.

Both men and women are equally at risk for experiencing infertility. Roughly 20% of infertile couples experience co-infertility, which is defined as the inability of both partners to conceive a child. About 15% of married people still don’t know what’s wrong with them, even after submitting themselves to a battery of diagnostic procedures. For unknown reasons, this condition is referred classified as infertility.

Inability to conceive a child is the most telling symptom of infertility. It is possible that no further symptoms exist, although this cannot be proven.

Depending on what’s triggering the infertility, the signs and symptoms could be very different. Some people may have difficulty conceiving because of their health. Sometimes it’s simply impossible to pin down the precise origin of a problem.

1. The first issue is that your periods don’t line up.

Women’s menstrual cycles average 28 days in length. Any occurrence within a few days of that date can be considered normal as long as the cycles remain stable. If a woman has what is considered to be a “regular” menstrual cycle, her period will last 33 days one month, 31 days the next, and 35 days the month after that.

Unpredictable menstrual cycles make it difficult for women with irregular periods to go about their daily lives normally. 2. Periods that are either extremely painful or extremely heavy
