After the relegation match first leg against second division club Düsseldorf, many VfL fans probably didn’t believe that VfL Bochum would be able to present their new Bundesliga jerseys at the beginning of July. But because the club from the Ruhr region actually managed to turn around the 0:3 home defeat, they will be going into another Bundesliga season.

VfL took the emotional rollercoaster they experienced as inspiration for their new jerseys. Bochum presented the new jerseys under the motto “In love for life”. “No matter what happens, no matter how rocky the road is, we are always there, in Castrop or wherever the road leads. It is precisely this solidarity and this blue and white attitude to life that our team will bring to the pitch in the coming season,” VfL wrote in a press release.

In the two jerseys from supplier Mizuno For the 2024/25 season, “those who are always there are incorporated into the fabric – our fans. For home games in dark floodlight blue with an embossed fan curve and a hint of the VfL logo, for away games in light floodlight blue with the large ‘VfL letters’ in the fabric.” READ FULL STORY HERE>>>CLICK HERE TO CONTINUE READING>>>

The new jerseys, which are made from recycled PET bottles, are now available in the online shop and from Wednesday in the two VfL fan shops Stadioncenter and Ruhr Park. Children’s jerseys cost 54.95 euros, those for adults 84.95 euros.

Competitive match premiere in Regensburg

Bochum will play their first competitive match in the new jerseys in mid-August as part of the first round of the DFB Cup: On August 18 (3:30 p.m., LIVE! on kicker), the Bundesliga club will be visiting second division newcomers Jahn Regensburg.

Basketball star Franz Wagner has officially extended his contract with NBA club Orlando Magic and becomes one of the highest-paid German athletes in history.

Lebron waives money

This does not correspond to the maximum salary: the four-time NBA champion, who will play for Team USA at the Olympic Games in Paris, is giving up almost three million dollars.

This way, the Lakers save on luxury tax because they do not exceed the salary cap. In addition, the superstar has secured a clause that he can only be traded with his consent.

Carlos Alcaraz has reached the quarter-finals at Wimbledon, but had to play for almost three hours in his 6:3, 6:4, 1:6, 7:5 match against the aggressive Frenchman Ugo Humbert. Jannik Sinner won in three sets against Ben Shelton.

Alcaraz thrilled the audience on Centre Court on Sunday (07.07.2024) with his enthusiasm for the game and his usual fast legs, but a loss of tension in the third set cost the defending champion a clear victory.

Humbert then played well and sensed his chance for a surprise. But Alcaraz found his way back on track in the fourth round, and in the end the French Open champion continued his winning streak at Grand Slam tournaments to eleven matches in a row and can still hope for another victory at Church Road.
