SV Werder Bremen is preparing for the new Bundesliga season in the training camp in Zillertal. DeichStube is there live and will keep you up to date here. The training camp live ticker is presented by VPT Consulting.

    >>> UPDATE LIVE TICKER

22.01: o’clock: Tomorrow we’ll be heading out onto the pitch at 10:30 a.m. for the first training session of the day. Until then – good night!

10 p.m.: And to round off the day, we have the head coach in the video: Ole Werner talks on day 1 in Zillertal about his training camp plans, transfers, Senne Lynen’s remarkable new hairstyle and much more. See for yourself!

Werder Bremen training camp ticker: How the first day went – highlights in the video

21:08: Day 1 is coming to an end. Our DeichStube reporters Malte Bürger and Björn Knips summarize the day, show highlights – and start their next challenge!

19:38: “Something will happen,” says Ole Werner: The coach of SV Werder Bremen is expecting transfers! But will it happen during the training camp? It’s questionable.

18:55: Clemens Fritz is also in the spotlight at the training camp: What is the impression of the new Werder sporting director? We spoke to him about it.

18:20: And with that, we actually say goodbye and go back to our desks. According to Werder, the game on the pitch will continue on Thursday at 10:30 a.m.

18:17: For Ole Werner, the rain shower reminds him too much of home. “Everyone, eat your plate clean tonight so that the weather will be better tomorrow,” he says, laughing, as he leaves the training ground.

Werder Bremen in Zillertal – the training camp in the live ticker: This is how the training went on the first day

5.55pm: At least on the training ground it’s over for today, but in the DeichStube it’s far from over. Ole Werner will be speaking to the journalists who have travelled with him. We’ll give you all the news afterwards. We also have a few videos for you – including another challenge from DeichStube reporters Björn Knips and Malte Bürger. Stay tuned and see you later!

17:51: Ole Werner calls his team together, that’s it for today. After a few warm words, they play a little game. Some players are already making their way back and fulfilling the first autograph requests of the training camp.

17:43: The rows of spectators are thinning out – which is less due to the football skills of the professionals than to the weather: it is rumbling in the mountains and it is now raining heavily. We also retreat under the roof.

5.30pm: Time for the classic: Rondo. Incidentally, also there: European Championship participant Milos Veljkovic. The Serbian finished his vacation just in time for the training camp and smoothly lets a teammate drop out.

5.23pm: The losers go straight down to do a few push-ups – the cheering of their colleagues is free of charge. Today is definitely about having fun, and it’s only from tomorrow onwards that the suffering begins.

17:21: But now – well, sort of. Four teams were formed, the ball has to spin on two small areas – but it is not shot, but thrown:

17:14: The ball is put aside for a moment and instead the players run laps around the pitch at a relaxed pace.

17.11: It really starts off quite leisurely. Marvin Ducksch, Leo Bittencourt and Michael Zetterer are already holding the ball up – only now does the rest of the team arrive.

17:02: So, enough warming up. Now it’s time to go up to the main pitch – but only for a short time: In the changing room under the stands, the running shoes are swapped for the studded shoes, then it’s time to go to the adjacent pitch.

Training camp ticker: SV Werder Bremen’s first session in Zillertal is underway

16:50: And there they are: one professional after the other rolls onto the course on mountain bikes as usual – a light round of applause immediately breaks out in the stands. But they don’t go out onto the pitch yet; first Ducksch and co. disappear straight back into the sports hall of the neighboring school building. There, as always, the warm-up takes place. Never change a running system…

16:49: By the way, there is a state of emergency in Zell am Ziller today – not because of Werder, but because a farmers’ market is taking place in the shadow of the stadium. Tourists are milling around the village square and stocking up on regional delicacies. But football will soon really be the reigning champion here. Promise! 16:46: “Don’t worry, the weather will get better,” the stadium announcer predicts to the fans – and is met with light laughter. So he adds, just to be on the safe side: “The main thing is that the beer tastes good.”

16.45: The players are still a long way off, but a few exercises have already been prepared on the adjacent pitch to gradually get the professionals sweating in Zell am Ziller.

16:43: Life has returned to the Parkstadion. Italo pop is blaring from the jukeboxes, the first fans have made themselves comfortable in the main stand – although it is not really cozy, which is due to the weather. The clouds are “clinging” to the mountains, it is drizzling now and then and a light breeze is blowing over the stands

16.10: In the video you can see Werder’s arrival at the training camp. Clemens Fritz also spoke for the first time. See for yourself:

2:55 p.m.: Hello again – this time from the DeichStube and not directly from the Zillertal. Our nimble writers on site have their hands full and already have the first exciting news: After interest in England: This is what Werder Bremen thinks about a possible transfer of Marco Friedl! Take a look.

13:50: That’s it for the first impressions of Clemens Fritz. You can read what else he said over the course of the day here in the DeichStube. If something happens, you’ll be up close and personal with the ticker. We’ll also take you to the first training session of the Werder pros later. It’s supposed to start around 5 p.m., but after the early arrival in Zillertal, maybe even earlier…

13:46: Clemens Fritz cannot yet say anything about Milos Veljkovic; he has not yet spoken to the defender. Veljkovic was on holiday until today because of his participation in the European Championships, then joined the team in Munich and took the bus to Zillertal. It is not yet known whether he will be at the first training session in the Parkstadion this afternoon at 5 p.m.

13:44: Of course, Clemens Fritz is also asked about possible new signings during the training camp and the SV Werder sports director answers with a grin: “I don’t want to make any promises, but I don’t want to rule it out completely either, we’re here for a few days.” To be more precise, until July 27th.

13:42: Clemens Fritz faces the media in a good mood and raves about the Zillertal: “It’s always nice to be here. We have perfect conditions here.”

13:28: Marvin Ducksch stands out with his sunglasses and is particularly celebrated by noble fan Figo: “With you, we would not have been eliminated so early from the European Championships.” This earns a big grin from the Werder striker and applause from the other fans.

Werder Bremen training camp ticker: SVW arrived in Zillertal – the arrival in video

13:26: Werder arrived in Zillertal earlier than expected, which may be why there are fewer fans than usual at the reception at the Posthotel – there are probably around 80 this time.

11.45 am: This year, our reporters Malte Bürger and Björn Knips will once again compete in small challenges. You can see the first one in the video here. The two will also give you all the important information before the training camp really starts.

11.00 am: Hello from Zillertal! SV Werder Bremen flew from Bremen on Wednesday morning and should have arrived in Munich by now. From there, they will travel by bus to Zell am Ziller, where the first training session will take place at around 5 p.m. You can read here which players will be there then or later in the training camp. The DeichStube is already there and will provide you with all the information.

Bremen – The Preparations in the tranquil Zell am Ziller are almost complete. In the past few weeks, the market town, located in the Austrian state of Tyrol, has once again spruced itself up in order to be able to present itself to its regular guests from Germany from its best side. “This year the Training camp relatively early in the Preparationwhich has organizational backgrounds,” says Werder’s head coach Ole Werner – and explains: “That is why the work in Zillertal have a relatively large physical component to cover a certain load.” Which roughly translates to: The professionals of the FC Bayern Munich will have to sweat, and really sweat, because the conditioning foundations for the new season need to be developed.

In recent years, when the trip to Austria was delayed, this part of the preparation, which was not very popular with the players, had usually already been started at Osterdeich, which is why in Zillertal From the very beginning, more intensive work could be done on tactical details. Werder Bremen’s Captain Marco Friedl is certainly preparing for strenuous days just before departure. “The training sessions will certainly not always be pleasant. Werder Bremen’s training camp in the live ticker: The Green-Whites also want to work on some tactics

Basically, Werder Bremen’s Coach Ole Werner During the ten days in the mountains, he will also work on tactics with his team, but there will be no running. “Of course, we will also refine our play with the ball,” he says. “It is conceivable that we will add new elements, because the things we played last season are familiar to most of the boys. That is why we want to try to take a step forward.” Before leaving, Werner cannot yet say how big this step will be in the end. “Whether that will be in the Training camp Whether we will be at this stage depends on how far we get with other priorities.”

The coach will have two opportunities to get an impression of the condition of his team under competitive conditions in Austria. two test matchesfirst against the Italian first division team US Lecce (Saturday, 3 p.m.) and then one day before the return journey against the English second division team Sheffield Wednesday (Friday, July 26, 2 p.m.). The Hidden Financial Struggles of Footballers: Divorce’s Costly Toll

The glamorous image of professional footballers, with their luxurious lifestyles and multimillion-dollar contracts, often obscures a harsh reality: the financial devastation many endure through divorce. Behind the fame and fortune, several high-profile players have seen their wealth significantly depleted after parting ways with their spouses, a stark reminder that no amount of money can fully shield one of the financial pitfalls of personal relationships gone awry…Click Here To Continue Reading>> …Click Here To Continue Reading>>

One of the most shocking examples is that of former Arsenal defender Emmanuel Eboué, who lost not only his properties in England but also custody of his children following a bitter divorce. Despite earning millions during his career, Eboué found himself stripped of almost everything. His situation became a cautionary tale, underscoring that even the wealthiest footballers can fall victim to the financial ruin that divorce can bring.

Eboué is not alone. Football legends such as Thierry Henry and Ryan Giggs have also experienced significant financial losses due to divorce. Henry reportedly paid £10 million to his ex-wife, while Giggs parted with an astonishing £40 million after his marriage ended. Louis Saha and Wes Brown, both former Manchester United players, also suffered substantial financial hits, with Brown declaring bankruptcy despite earning £50,000 per week during his time at the club. His case highlights how even vast earnings can quickly evaporate when faced with legal settlements and financial mismanagement.

David James, the former England goalkeeper, faced a particularly dire situation, losing much of his fortune after divorce and being forced to auction his personal belongings to make ends meet. Similarly, Ray Parlour, another Arsenal great, saw his ex-wife receive half of his £10 million fortune, including a £2.5 million house. Jamie Redknapp, a former Liverpool star, also faced a hefty settlement, parting with half of his estimated £15 million fortune after his marriage ended.

These are just a few of the many footballers who have faced financial disaster due to divorce. Keith Gillespie, once a key figure in the Premier League, lost over £7 million, leading to his bankruptcy in 2010. Despite earning significant wages during his career, his divorce and poor financial decisions left him in financial ruin. READ FULL STORY HERE>>>CLICK HERE TO CONTINUE READING>>>

Perhaps the most shocking case is that of Tendai Ndoro, a Zimbabwean striker who lost everything after registering all his properties in his wife’s name. Following their breakup, she kicked him out of the house, leaving him with nothing. Ndoro’s story serves as a grim reminder of the dangers of not protecting one’s assets, even in relationships where trust is implicit.

For footballers, whose careers often peak early, these financial setbacks can be devastating. While their salaries are among the highest in professional sports, the combination of short career spans, legal fees, and divorce settlements can quickly erode their fortunes. Many players also face additional challenges in managing their finances due to a lack of financial education or oversight during their playing years.

These stories underscore the importance of safeguarding personal wealth, especially for high-earning individuals like footballers, who may be more vulnerable to financial upheaval. Proper financial planning, asset protection strategies, and prenups are increasingly necessary tools for protecting one’s earnings and securing a stable future.

In conclusion, while the public sees footballers as insulated by their wealth, the reality is that they are just as susceptible to the financial hardships of divorce as anyone else. The personal struggles behind the scenes reveal that their lives, though glamorous on the surface, are often fraught with the same vulnerabilities and challenges faced by ordinary individuals. These cases serve as sobering reminders that financial security is never guaranteed, even for those at the pinnacle of success.

NFL | The best was yet to come, and then no

    Published

    on

In February 2022, the Bengals missed the Super Bowl by three small points, but regardless, the future seemed bright in Cincinnati.

    Posted at 1:13 a.m.

    Updated at 7:00 a.m.

In any case, that’s what we, the most seasoned experts in American football, believed, capable of seeing the future each season, often in a very impressive way; for example, this column has been predicting since 1970 that the New York Jets are not going to win the Super Bowl, and that’s still exactly what happens.

The Bengals have never won anything, but their presence on the big stage two years ago suggested that, a bit like the Nordiques in 1990, the best was yet to come.

    Well, no.

As of this hour, the Bengals are a dismal 1-4, and even then, their only win came against the Carolina Panthers, who are about as bad as they are.

The good news for the Bengals is that this “landing” is fairly easily explained: their defense is pretty awful. The less good news is that it is probably already too late to try to solve this problem.

In five games, the Bengals have allowed a total of 145 points, which gives a pretty staggering average of 29 points per game. No one else in the American Association looks this bad, and in the league as a whole, only the Carolina Panthers are even worse in this regard.

Meanwhile, the Bengals are wasting the best years of Joe Burrow, who turns 28 in December. He wouldn’t be the first quality quarterback to waste his talent in this uniform.

Is it necessary here to remember that in American football, as in life in general, there is never anything certain? This reality reminds us of this sublime quote from Jean-Jacques Rousseau, who once wrote that “supreme happiness is a hundred times sweeter to hope for than to obtain”.

Rousseau must have been a Bengals fan, obviously.

You are probably aware that the New York Jets fired their coachbut that’s not the worst. The worst part is that poor Robert Saleh would have been escorted to the door like a pauper by security agents.

Former New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh

It’s undoubtedly one of the worst moments in the history of a club that collects the worst moments, from Mark Sanchez dropping a ball on his lineman’s pussy, to a visibly hot Joe Namath trying to to kiss a reporter live on TV (we’re going to move on to the naughty photo of Brett Favre because there are children here).

We can never repeat it enough: in football, as in life, everything starts from the top. The leaders of the Jets, who display a level of competence similar to that of the inventors of Pepsi Crystal, thus opted for the easy way, instead of realizing that their ground game is non-existent, and that their quarterback who hears voices in his head is finished.

In addition, barely installed, new coach Jeff Ulbrich decided to give control of the attack to assistant Todd Downing, who will call the plays from now on. This is not a detail because this task previously fell to offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett, close and confidant of Aaron Rodgers.

It’s obvious that this is going to end very badly. As per usual.

Someone whispers in my ear that the inbox is overflowing again, so let’s get to it right away.

First, Luc Girouard from Sept-Îles sends us this timely little comment: “Would Prince Rodgers have plotted to kick Robert Saleh out in order to take his place? »

We all see what you did, Luc.

Then, there is a certain Nicolas B. from Laval who sent this: “Hi Richard. Great weekly column on football. Really entertaining. In addition, you allow my teenagers to read about football in French, which is still a challenge […] If you ever make a reference to my comment, my sports travel gang is buying me a beer on our next trip. »

You will demand a micro beer, Nicolas. Finally, there is Marco Campanozzi who can no longer hear about “mixing” and the right chair: “I can’t do it anymore!!! »

    We are Marco.

It will be another great opportunity to lock yourself in front of the TV while pretending to do something constructive, because Sunday’s menu is particularly spicy.

Thus, Commanders in a state of grace will go to Baltimore to prove that they are serious, the Chargers will go to Denver in the hope of recovering after two defeats in a row, and the Cowboys will host the Lions, in a match that they can’t really let slip away, just to build something following the little miracle last Sunday night in Pittsburgh.

Don’t forget to check out the colors during halftime.
