Voyageurs Secure Hard-Fought Victory Against ABC in Thrilling Extra-Inning Showdown

Earlier this week, the Voyageurs paid a little visit to the teams in the greater Montreal area. Jérémie Chalifour’s men first stopped at Gary Carter Stadium on Tuesday to pick up a 3-0 victory over the Orioles. Jacob Laurin got off to a great start on the mound. His performance paved the way for his team’s triumph.

After defeating the Montrealers, the northern force measured itself against the Laval Pirates the next day, last Wednesday. The Laval players hit hard in the second inning by generating four points. This offensive surge completely sawed the legs of the Jonquiérois who finally had to admit defeat 6 to 2 before hitting the road to return home.

“We played our best defensive game of the year against Montreal on Tuesday. Our outfielders were spectacular. Laurin was solid on the mound. We didn’t have the same luck on the mound the next day against Laval. It was more difficult. We came up against an excellent pitcher. After two innings, we were trailing by a lot. It was quite a hill to climb. We didn’t know how to do it. I would say that our trip to Montreal was okay, nothing more. We would have liked to win both games,” concluded the head coach.

A major challenge awaits the Jonquière team on Saturday afternoon at Stade Richard-Desmeules, starting at 4 p.m. One of the best teams in the circuit will be in town for a doubleheader. A young badminton player realizes his deceased father’s dream
