At first, it seemed to be a normal ultrasound examination, but suddenly, the doctor noticed something very worrying. He didn’t want to believe the picture on the monitor; the pregnancy of the Perkins took a very dramatic turn. But what did the doctor see? Keep watching if you want to know the history of the Perkins.

For years, the couple, Lauren and David Perkins, had been trying to have a child. Unfortunately, without luck. After several failed attempts, they took a different path; they opted for artificial insemination…Click Here To Continue Reading>> …Click Here To Continue Reading>>

and Laura eventually became pregnant. Suddenly, the day of the first ultrasound was here, and the expected parents could hardly wait to see the heartbeat of their child for the first time. It was love at first sight.

When David first saw Lauren, he knew they were getting married. Their first date was a Baylor University football match in 2003. Even then, both were very much in love and became inseparable. Over time, their relationship resembled a fairy tale. They were best friends, gave each other support in difficult times, and worried about each other’s happiness. Finally, they married in 2007 and adopted a dog a few years later in 2010. They called her Maggie, and happiness seemed perfect.

But Lauren and David longed for a child; they wanted a family to which they could give their full love and grow from it. However, since both were very adventurous and wanted to see the world, they decided to wait with family planning for the time being. They were sure they’d planned for the future. A few years later, Lauren and David were finally ready to start a family. They thought they had covered everything perfectly.

“My dream was always two children, preferably a boy and a girl. They should be about two to three years apart,” Lauren told Today magazine. Nevertheless, not everything went as planned. Similar to many families, Lauren later said, “I think God looked at us and said, ‘You have no idea what’s coming.’”

During these early days, the couple couldn’t wait to finally have a baby and initially tried it naturally. However, they had no idea what to expect. The Perkins waited in vain for a positive pregnancy test. When they wanted a baby all over the world, however, they had no luck. Eventually, they came to the conclusion that something could be wrong.

Although both knew that stress could only be a hindrance in the situation, there was nothing they could do about the excitement and nervousness that was slowly spreading within. Day and night, they wrecked their brains over their problem. Time passed, and it was soon months in which they could not have a child. They tried everything to finally get pregnant.

The couple paid attention to a healthier diet, took vitamins and supplements, with devastating results. Even after months, no pregnancy was recorded. They finally discussed whether they should tell their families. Since both Lauren and David themselves did not know exactly what was going on, they decided not to initiate their family for the time being. This would only mean extra pressure and make it difficult to have a baby.

Even if they didn’t want to make their problem public, their secret ate them up internally. Further unsuccessful attempts followed. In the end, they could not and did not want to keep it a secret anymore. They had to tell their family, if only to find comfort in them. Before that, however, they wanted to have exhausted every possibility and therefore waited.

So, for a total of 18 months, the couple tried to have a child, but success failed to materialize. Lauren and David felt more disappointed than ever. The disappointment and frustration now began to affect their relationship, and they burdened not only themselves but also family and friends. Starting a family of their own now seemed impossible, and they wondered if they would ever hear their own children’s laughter.

“What would life be like without children?” The couple was now incredibly desperate and knew neither in nor out. And so, they decided to seek help from a specialist. After countless attempts, the use of home remedies, and a change in diet, nothing happened. After more than a year, Lauren and David Perkins decided to visit a specialist in artificial insemination.

After long and extensive research, they finally found the specialist they trusted and made an appointment. When they then introduced themselves to this specialist, he carried out a variety of tests and informed them about possible subsequent treatments. However, all of this was very overwhelming for Lauren and David, and the high cost of such a procedure shook them. Therefore, they wanted to think about this problem alone and in peace and then make a decision.

However, they finally initiated friends and family into their secret and hoped for support. After months of futile attempts to get pregnant and consulting a doctor, they simply couldn’t keep their infertility a secret. After a long wait, the Perkins told their family about their complicated situation. Due to the intimate nature of the problem, they could understand it and did not resent the couple.

They began to consult on which treatment would be best. They wanted to take a little more time and thoroughly research the problem before moving on to any medical treatments and surgeries. It’s not surprising that both her loving parents support her in this difficult situation. David’s wife was suffering from depression, and he tried to help her by making her a delicious meal when he came home. When she was still sad, he talked to her for hours and made her feel better. This is the cornerstone of any functioning marriage.

Although it was not always easy at first, after struggling with infertility for a year, Lauren and David Perkins decided to join a mission trip in Nicaragua. A local priestess told them that God had big things planned for them. The couple decided to try again and disregard adoption for the time being. They would now also consider medical treatment or surgery if necessary. READ FULL STORY HERE>>>CLICK HERE TO CONTINUE READING>>>

David and Laura Perkins were trying to get pregnant naturally and via IUI treatment. When the doctor placed the needle in Lauren’s hip, David almost fainted. Only when the doctor had finished the treatment did David breathe normally again. The chance that the IUI would work was just 25%.

So, they returned to the fertility clinic. After a few weeks, Lauren took a pregnancy test and found out she was pregnant. Lauren’s hormone levels were unusually high, which could indicate an error during pregnancy. It could also be a mole pregnancy in which a non-cancerous tumor spreads in the uterus. This was the case with Lauren. After subsequent examinations, they immediately arranged an ultrasound appointment.

After trying in vain for so long to finally have a child, Laura Perkins’ dream had come true. It was a huge surprise for the couple who never thought they’d be able to have more than one child at once. The couple tried to imagine what it would mean to raise six children at a time, but it seemed unimaginable. Despite all the concern, they couldn’t help but look forward to the six pieces.

The Perkins got scared, like most expected parents, when the doctor told them they were expecting their first set of triplets. Due to lack of space in the womb, the nutrient and blood supply for all babies cannot be guaranteed. They were presented with the possibility of aborting some fetuses in order to give the others a better chance of survival. However, this would not be something the couple would ever consider.

Despite all the risks, Lauren and David decided to keep the babies. The weight of her abdomen increasingly caused Lauren back lag and foot pain. Running long distances became more and more of a torment for her. Lauren and David Perkins were preparing for the birth of their six babies when they suddenly went into labor. It was a cesarean section, and the delivery went smoothly. They had three boys and three girls.

After a single pregnancy of 30 weeks, they weighed between 737 and 1332 grams. Despite the special circumstances, the birth went smoothly, Lauren reported. Lauren and David were able to hold their sextuplets for the first time four days after they were born. The baby girl Leia had to stay in the hospital for a few days because she’d been at the bottom of the womb. After four months, the sixlings were finally able to go home.

After five months, the whole family was united, even though Leia had to fight harder than her other siblings. She remained tough and persevered. The operation went well, and soon Leia was on her way home. The Perkins were overwhelmed by the support they received. Many also helped with the house preparations for the additional care of baby Leah.

The first Christmas for the Perkins’ pack of six tuplets was spent with their parents, Lauren and David. The six siblings were healthy, and all six siblings seemed to have a unique bond. Lauren decided to publish her experience as a mother of sixlings by opening a blog called “Perkins Six-Pack.” In it, she describes the special everyday life as a mom of six children.

Kenny and Bobby McCaughey welcomed seven sweet babies into their family on November 19, 1997. Today, the six pieces are seven years old, and the Perkins pack is happier than ever. The names of these angels are Nathan, Brandon, Natalie, Alexis, Kelsey, Joel, and Kenny Jr.

The Vicari family has been shaped in history by the birth of seven babies, and they made it into the headlines for various newspapers. They received thousands of letters from different parts of the world to show their support and love for them. Kenny and Bobby McCauley got a call from President Bill Clinton, one of the most iconic figures in the United States. The president congratulated the two and invited the whole family to stop by the White House.

Iowa decided to give the sevenlings full scholarships at state universities of their choice once they reached college. Gerber Products Company donated many packages containing baby food that they could hold for a year. Procter & Gamble donated access to a lifetime supply of diapers.

Kenny and Bobby McCauley already had their first child before they gave birth to the seven babies. They decided to find different ways to increase income in order to raise all their children. One way was to release an album full of lullabies, and another was to publish a book. Kathie Lee Gifford, along with other artists, decided to work in the Christian music industry to sing a few songs.

Kenny and Bobby McCauley’s former home had seven bedrooms and five bathrooms, totaling 5,500 square feet. Their old home was to be converted into a home that would provide protection and support for young girls who were experiencing an unplanned pregnancy. The couple now lived in a simpler three-bedroom house.

Kenny Jr. shared his experience with a large family when he turned 18. Kelsey decided to take a course on public relations that dealt with how to pass on information from an authoritative person to a specific audience. Thanks for reading.

I walked into an eatery one afternoon to order takeout. While I waited for my food I kept busy with my phone. A man walked up to me with determination on his face. 1999 Toronto Saga: How Former Speaker, Salisu Buhari, Declared False Age and Forged University Certificate

Published

On the 3rd of June, 1999, Salisu Buhari, a 29-year-old Nigerian businessman who made his fortune dealing in computers, was elected as the speaker of the House of Representatives in Nigeria, a position which constitutionally made him the fourth most important person in Nigeria.

Unknowing to his colleagues, the government and the whole of Nigeria, Salisu Buhari was not qualified for the office he occupied. Few weeks after he was elected, findings revealed that Salisu Buhari, the sixth Speaker of the House of Rep. forged his way to power…Click Here To Continue Reading>> …Click Here To Continue Reading>>

The News Magazine released an article on the 19th of July, 1999 claiming that Salisu Buhari is seven years younger than the 36 years he claimed to be and that he didn’t attend the University of Toronto in Canada not to talk of graduating from the institution. The News Magazine had more than enough proofs to back their claims thus suppressing all threats made by Salisu Buhari and his lawyers to sue them for libel.

It was made known to the world that Salisu Buhari, the self-acclaimed Toronto University graduate, was actually born in 1970 and not in 1963 which he claimed. This rendered him unqualified to be the Speaker as section 65 subsection 1 of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria disqualified anybody under 30 years from contesting membership of the House of Representatives.

Also, it was made known that Salisu Buhari didn’t attend the University of Toronto in Canada not to talk of graduating with a degree in Business Administration in 1990. The University of Toronto, when asked, denied knowing Salisu Buhari. The management said they couldn’t find any record relating to the his name. Carlo Villanueva, an official of the Institution said,

Regarding your request for confirmation of degree for Mr. Ibrahim Salisu Buhari. We have searched our records and could not find anybody with the name you are inquiring with”.

Also, Salisu claimed that he did his national youth service at Standard Construction in Kano. This was proven false as records at the NYSC secretariat in Abuja could not produce his name among the 1991 corps members who served in the scheme. READ FULL STORY HERE>>>CLICK HERE TO CONTINUE READING>>>

Blocked in every way, he had no means of escape. After several open denial of the allegations and threats to sue The News Magazine, Salisu Buhari, on Thursday, July 23, 1999, eventually faced Nigerians and admitted declaring false age and forging certificate. In tears, he said,

“I apologize to you. I apologize to the nation. I apologize to my family and friends for all the distress I have caused them. I was misled in error by the zeal to serve the nation, I hope the nation will forgive me and give me the opportunity to serve again.”

He then resigned and walked into the shadows. In 2013, he made his return to the news and the public space when he was appointed as a member of the governing council of the University of Nigeria by President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration.

Normally, the move garnered a lot of criticism. In a feeble attempt to justify the appointment, the Nigerian government explained that Buhari’s apology had earned him a presidential pardon from President Olusegun Obasanjo.

The Man Called Adegoke Adelabu ‘Penkelemesi’

Published

By

Joseph Gbadamosi Adegoke Adelabu alias Adelabu Penkelemesi was a colossal in the political arena of Ibadan and the then Western Region before the independence of Nigeria in 1960.

He was born in Oke-Oluokun, Ibadan, on September 3, 1915 to Mr. Sanusi Ashiyanbi Adelabu and Mrs. Awujola Adelabu. At the tender age of five, Adegoke Adelabu lost his mother and then lived with his paternal aunt. Adegoke Adelabu attended St. David’s C.M.S School in Kudeti, Ibadan from 1925 to 1929; CMS Central School, Mapo, Ibadan in 1930 and Government College, where he was a head boy, from 1931 to 1936…Click Here To Continue Reading>> …Click Here To Continue Reading>>

In 1936, Adegoke won a U.A.C scholarship to study commerce in Yaba Higher College but eventually left the college six months later to work as an assistant to the UAC Ibadan district manager. After working with UAC for sometime, he was promoted to an Assistant Manager due to his hard and clever work. However, he left UAC in 1937 to start a business of his own which was unsuccessful. He later took up a civil service job, then returned to UAC in 1945 only to leave after a short period to start a textile trading business which was successful.

After acquiring little wealth from his textile business, Adegoke Adelabu got involved in politics. The starting point of his political career was traced to the period when Ibadan lineage chiefs (Mogajis) rose against Salami Agbaje, the then Otun Balogun of Ibadan, from becoming the Olubadan of Ibadan. In 1951, during the local elections, Adelabu and some other political elements formed a new party called the Ibadan People’s Party to challenge the already established Ibadan Progressive Union and fortunately for Adelabu, the new party won all six seats to the Western Regional Assembly. However, the Ibadan People’s Party broke apart after an informal alliance with NCNC was proposed by Adelabu. Adegoke Adelabu stayed with NCNC and became the secretary of the party’s Western Province Working Committee. In 1954, Adelabu became the chairman of Ibadan District Council. Also, in the Federal elections of 1954, Adegoke Adelabu won a seat to the House of Representatives and later became the First National Vice President of NCNC and appointed Minister of Social Services. He held this post along with his chairmanship of the Ibadan district council.

He later resigned from both positions after allegations of corruption by the opposition party, Action Group.
In 1956, Adelabu ran for a seat in the regional assembly as the leader of NCNC in the Western Region but his party lost majority seats to Action Group thus making Adelabu the leader of opposition in the Western House of Assembly.
Adegoke Adelabu alias Adelabu Penkelemesi was a strong politician, leader and had his ground, a firm ground, in Ibadan. He was found of using the phrase “Peculiar mess” whenever he address the public. The non-literate segment of his followers who had never heard of the words peculiar and mess and never knew its meaning Yorubanized the phrase into “Penkelemesi” and then added it to his name- Adegoke Adelabu Penkelemesi. The people so much loved Adelabu. He was indeed a ‘man of the people’. OldNaija gathered that when he became the Minister of Labour, he was given an official limousine car which he drove to Ibadan to show his friends and followers and declared that the car belonged to them, not him. Also, when Adelabu was given an official residence in Ikoyi, the most exquisite part of Lagos inhabited mostly by the British and French, he called drummers from his hometown to celebrate the success which the British and French residents found disturbing. Adegoke Adelabu simply said, “If they do not like noise and drumming, they are free to go back to their own country.” Adegoke Adelabu admitted being an egoist in a book he wrote in 1952 titled ‘Africa In Ebullition: Being a handbook of freedom for Nigerian nationalists’.

On March 25, 1958, at the age of 43, Adegoke Adelabu met his untimely death in a fatal car accident on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway. His death sparked protest and chaos in Ibadan as many of his supporters claimed he was assassinated by his opponents with juju. Several properties were destroyed and people also lost their lives. The police arrested over 500 persons of whom 102 was charged with murder and others discharged and some, jailed. It was indeed a big loss, a “peculiar miss” for the people of Ibadan.
