Little Boy Tells Judge THIS During Adoption Hearing, Then Court Immediately Stops Everything! –

This little boy interrupted the judge right in the middle of an adoption hearing, shocking everyone in the room, including his foster parents. When he finally spoke up, he revealed something completely unexpected that made the judge end the proceeding immediately.

As Sarah Kad and her husband, Steuart Shank, stared at the disbelieving face of the middle-aged judge, the feeling of fear and anxiety suddenly overcame them. They had hoped to have a smooth adoption hearing; however, it felt like that would take a lot of work. For the most part, they understood why anyone would find this particular adoption process skeptical. The couple was still in their mid-20s and were adopting foster kids aged 13 and 6, respectively—a far cry from the typical adoption proceedings one saw in the courtroom…Click Here To Continue Reading>> …Click Here To Continue Reading>>

The judge stared blankly at them, unsure what to make of the union. “You think they all agree that this adoption ought to go forward?” she asked, the hypothetical question directed at no one in particular. Yet, Kad still spoke up instinctively, trying to plead their case. But before the judge could respond, Desan, the 13-year-old, cut in unexpectedly, bearing the most baffling news. The courtroom fell silent at the interruption, giving him the audience he wanted. Meanwhile, Kad and Steuart stared at their soon-to-be teen son in surprise, their minds racing with multiple questions.

The couple had expected such bizarre behavior from his six-year-old brother, Michael, who was always full of surprises, but never Desan. He had always been calm and mature, especially in serious situations. Therefore, you can imagine their surprise.

Kad wondered what had prompted him to speak up now, and she feared the judge’s reaction if things went south. Just like she feared, the hearing was about to take an unexpected turn. In a few minutes, they would witness how the weight of his words would lead the entire hearing to an abrupt end, forever defining the course of their lives.

For years, Kad had always dreamed of fostering children. She was so bent on it that she mentioned it 10 minutes into her first date with Steuart. Luckily for her, Steuart shared the same sentiments, making their union the perfect match.

From then on, the couple remained steadfast in actualizing that dream, and it soon became more than a mere ambition to them. Months later, they got married in their home state, Washington, and two weeks after their honeymoon, they officially began their fostering dream. Kad felt delighted at the speed at which they were going. At long last, she would have all that she longed for. Nothing could possibly dampen her mood—or so she thought.

The couple faced some constraints when they began their plans to foster children. The first and most pressing was that they were in their early 20s with little to no experience in parenting. While 21 was the minimum age for foster parents in most U.S. states, Kad and her husband were 23 at the time, which was still within the required age bracket.

However, they worried that this particular factor could still prove damaging and limiting in their journey as foster parents. Regardless of their fears, the couple decided to take baby steps in their approach, leading to their next constraint: How could they start as newlyweds and new parents? The question hung in the air for most of their planning phase, and it only took the intervention of a social worker for them to make notable progress on the topic.

The caseworker suggested that Kad and Steuart take in toddlers and newborns for a start, which they complied with wholeheartedly. Furthermore, as they did this, they took classes on how to shelter toddlers on the side. For the most part, the Shanks, particularly Kad, found the experience thrilling. They immersed themselves in this new lifestyle of embracing newborns and caring for them for several days, weeks, and even months. Then, when it was time for reunification, they went through the painful process of parting ways with these kids. The pattern continued for months, with the Shanks welcoming kids into their home and caring for them before eventually reuniting them with their families.

The cycle seemed endless, but that was until Michael walked into their lives. As per the usual pattern, Kad and Shank were assigned to care for little Michael, who was 3 years old at the time. The deal was for the couple to take him in for only two days, after which he would be taken back and assigned to someone new. Kad was more than content with the arrangement.

At this point, they had already fostered over 12 kids before him, so nothing seemed out of the ordinary. Soon after, the 23-year-old would realize how wrong she had been to have made such an insinuation. Michael captured their hearts like no child before him had in the two days he lived with them. When the time for his departure drew near, the couple urged the social worker to extend his visit by a week. It continued that way as time passed, with Kad asking for an extension and Michael staying longer than anticipated. Gradually, these visits turned into something more profound, and Michael’s stay with the Shanks grew from that first week into a week, and then into months. Subsequently, these would eventually culminate into three years—a staggering record the couple had never made with other foster kids in the past.

However, they had not foreseen this unimaginable change the first few months they took Michael into their care. At this point, the little boy no longer felt like a stranger in their home, as he had practically become a member of the family. But unfortunately, all good things eventually had to come to an end, and Michael’s days in the Shank abode began to get numbered. The couple had to consider reunification, like they usually did in their foster care lifestyle. They received a stark and harsh reminder of this fact when Desan visited one day.

That day, Kad and Steuart agreed to supervise a sibling visit with the then-10-year-old Desan. Michael’s excited reaction to seeing his older brother made the couple realize the harsh truth they had been putting off for quite some time: Michael and Desan had to be together. It took a lot of willpower for Kad to come to terms with this fact and move on with the reunification, but with time, she eventually accepted it. Seeing Michael play and laugh with Desan was unlike anything they had seen before, and it opened their minds to another possible option: they could try fostering both boys.

As time passed, the social worker informed Kad and her husband that the boys’ parents were unavailable for reunification. This meant that the minute they left their care, they could end up in another foster home and might even be separated in the long run. The thought scared Kad beyond reasoning; she could not fathom the idea of both boys leading separate lives away from each other.

To tackle this problem, she brought the idea of fostering the boys to Steuart and was thoroughly pleased when he agreed to it. However, they faced one minor problem: taking in Desan would mean catering to a preteen, a skill they didn’t possess in their knowledge box. Moreover, the foster parents only had a 13-year age gap with Desan, making them considerably young to be actual parents to him. Kad worried that their young age wouldn’t fit the spectrum in the long run and would consequently defeat the essence of foster parenting.

Hesitant, they thought of other alternatives, hoping to arrive at a more favorable solution. But the more they brainstormed, the more they realized their options were slim and still led them to their initial plan of fostering both boys. With no other solution in sight, they sought ways to fix the plan rather than run away from it. In that case, they took classes on how to handle a soon-to-be teenager, and when they felt prepared, they welcomed Desan with open arms.

Kad and Steuart grew to love Desan during their first few weeks together. Unlike Michael, who was reserved and gentle most of the time, Desan lit up the room with his empathetic and social self. Their contrasting personalities offered the perfect balance for the accent couple, and they knew they wouldn’t have it any other way. But when the topic of reunifying them with their family arose once again, Kad and Steuart found themselves at a crossroads again. However, things were different this time around. Instead of deliberating on it for a long time, they took the bold step of legally adopting the boys.

Overcome with excitement for the new chapter they were about to embark on, the couple informed Desan and Michael, hoping to get a similar reaction from them. But while little Michael was pleased with the idea, Desan’s response was unreadable. He simply flashed Kad a small smile and moved on from the discussion by engaging in his private business. This lukewarm reaction made the young woman think he was unhappy with their decision, and looking at how he had just interrupted the judge right there in the courtroom reinforced this fear within her.

Kad and Steuart expected little Michael to speak out of turn and do something indescribable that could grate on the judge’s nerves and change the course of the hearing. But unbeknownst to them, Desan’s sudden move was about to do the exact same thing they feared—but in the most unexpected way possible. Having successfully gained the attention of everyone in the courtroom, Desan went on to express himself. Everyone expected to hear some negative response, considering the note of urgency his action carried. However, the words that left his mouth came as an absolute shock to everyone, including Kad.

The 13-year-old expressed his love for his new parents. “They all love us,” he stated, before adding, “We love them. Our whole family is the best thing we ever had. I’m glad to have these people in my life. I’m glad to be their son.”

His words shook Kad, making her cry in her seat before the judge.

One of the worst torture methods in history involves being ‘licked to death’ by a goat

Published

By

At this point I’m pretty sure people were just trying whatever they could think of

If there’s one truth about human beings which has endured throughout history it’s that we’re a bunch of weirdos who do some very strange things.

Naturally, that includes finding weird ways to hurt or kill each other, as some of the methods are just downright bizarre.

You’d think that by the time people were coming up with ways to kill each other involving two boats and copious lashings of milk and honey that we were pretty much running out of ideas and freestyling but human ingenuity had plenty more in the tank when it came to being horrible…Click Here To Continue Reading>> …Click Here To Continue Reading>>

Of course, there was the guy who built a giant torture device in the shape of a bull, and ended up becoming the first victim of his own creation, while at other times the implements are as simple as something which pulls your limbs out of their joints.

However, each of these methods involves some kind of gadget or implement, for a more low tech alternative then you might consider one which needs nothing beyond a bucket of saltwater and a goat.

This historic torture method was known as the ‘goat’s tongue’ and could leave a person in agonising pain or even result in their death.

How it worked was a person would have their feet immersed in saltwater to make it more vulnerable to peeling and then the poor victim will be secured in place so that the goat can properly be deployed.

The idea is that the goat will go and lick the person’s salty feet, and the unceasing tongue lashing from the bleating beast would slowly but steadily wear down the skin on the soles of the feet. READ FULL STORY HERE>>>CLICK HERE TO CONTINUE READING>>>

While having the soles of your feet licked by a goat might initially feel quite ticklish, it must have been agony once the skin starts wearing down and you wish you were anywhere else other than stuck with a goat licking your feet.

Such a torture could even result in death should the wounds that form on the soles of the feet become infected, and having a farm animal lick your open wounds seems like a good way to get them infected.

The ‘goat’s tongue’ was described in documents condemning the use of torture and is thought to date back to the days of Ancient Rome.

While they had some decent ways to treat illness and it wasn’t all dreadful when it came to medical care, you’d much rather not get some sort of infection in those times.

Plus, with the skin on the soles of your feet licked down to absolutely nothing good luck walking anywhere for an incredibly long amount of time.

Even if the goat’s tongue didn’t infect your wounds then trying to walk on your ruined feet would probably have a similar impact.

Be glad that the horrific torture method is no longer used in this day and age.

The Igbo Landing – Story Of Igbo Slaves Who Rebelled Against Slave Traders And Committed Mass Suicide In U.S.A., 1803

Jamaican artist, Donovan Nelson’s illustration paying tribute to the Igbo Landing Event.

Countless accounts of terrifying and dehumanizing events that happened during the slave trade era have been passed down from generations to generations; accounts of irrational cruelty, starvation, resistance, mass killings and suicide. The story of the Igbo landing is another tear-evoking account of resistance to slavery by the Igbo slaves from present-day Nigeria off U.S. coast in 1803…Click Here To Continue Reading>> …Click Here To Continue Reading>>

What Is The Igbo Landing Or Ibo Landing?

The Igbo landing, also written as ‘Ibo landing‘ or ‘Ebo landing‘, is a historic site at Dunbar Creek on St. Simons Island, Glynn County, Georgia, U.S.A. where dozens of Igbo slaves took their own lives in a resistance to the cruelty of slavery in 1803.

In May, 1803, a ship named the wanderer, just like other slave ships, conveyed slaves from Africa to America. Among these slaves were set of Igbo people who were known by the then slave traders of the American South for being fiercely independent and unwilling to tolerate chattel slavery. The Igbo slaves were bought by the agents of John Couper and Thomas Spalding at $100 each for forced labour on their plantations in St. Simons Island, U.S.A.

When the slave ship landed in Savannah, Georgia, the chained Igbo slaves were reloaded and shoved under the deck of a coastal vessel named the Schooner York (some accounts claimed the vessel name was Morovia) which would take them to St. Simons Island. It was during the voyage that the group of Igbo slaves numbering about seventy-five rebelled against their captors and forced them to plunge into the water where they drowned. The slaves successfully regained their freedom but it was of no use since they were already out and far away from Africa, and so, on the order of a high chief who was also a captive, they sang, marched ashore and then into the marshy waters of Dunbar Creek where they drowned themselves.

According to Professor Terri L. Snyder, “the enslaved cargo suffered much by mismanagement, rose from their confinement in the small vessel, and revolted against the crew, forcing them into the water where they drowned”. READ FULL STORY HERE>>>CLICK HERE TO CONTINUE READING>>>

A white man, Roswell King, who was an overseer on a plantation known as Pierce Butler plantation was the first to record the incident at the site now known as the Igbo landing. Roswell and another man, Captain Peterson, recovered thirteen bodies of the drowned Igbos while others bodies were lost forever in the water. OldNaija gathered that some of them might have survived the suicide episode and this make the actual number of deaths in the Igbo landing uncertain.

“Regardless of the numbers, the deaths signaled a powerful story of resistance as these captives overwhelmed their captors in a strange land, and many took their own lives rather than remain enslaved in the New World. The Igbo Landing gradually took on enormous symbolic importance in local African American folklore”. – Momodu, Samuel

People in the U.S.A termed the resistance and suicide by the Igbo slaves the first freedom march in the history of Africa and the United States. Local people claimed that the Landing and surrounding marshes in Dunbar Creek where the Igbo people committed mass suicide in May, 1803 were haunted by the souls of the dead Igbo slaves.

In September, 2012, the Igbo Landing site was designated as a holy ground by the St. Simons African American community. The Igbo Landing is also now a part of the curriculum for coastal Georgia schools.

In recent times, many artists, songs, movies and others have paid tribute to the Igbo landing/ Ibo landing. A notable tribute is found in the ending part of Marvel’s comic movie, Black Panther, where Killmonger, played by Michael B Jordan, refer to the event by saying, “Bury me in the ocean with my ancestors who jumped from ships, ’cause they knew death was better than bondage”. Beyoncé also was not left out in the tribute paying as she portrayed the incident in of her music videos.
