Ibrahim Babankowa

The first and only Prime Minister of Nigeria, Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa’s decomposing body was found in a bush near a village along Lagos-Abeokuta road on January 21, 1966, six days after he was abducted during the January 15 1966 coup which was the first of its kind in Nigeria.

Ibrahim Babankowa who as at then was an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) found the bodies of Tafawa Balewa, Okotie Eboh and others. In an interview with Vanguard Newspaper, Babankowa recounted how he tracked and found the bodies…Click Here To Continue Reading>> …Click Here To Continue Reading>>

What was your experience like?
The saddest part of my life as a police officer was the events of January 15th -20th 1966. I was then an Assistant Superintendent of police serving at Mubi in the former Sardauna Province and thereafter, I was discharged from the police mobile force. It was while I was in Sardauna Province in December 1965 that the political crisis in the Western Region blew up.

There was anarchy and ‘Operation Wetie’ where rival political groups were spraying each other with petrol and setting their victims ablaze. Consequent to the ugly development, the Federal Government intervened and raised an anti-riot unit from the Police Refresher Course School in Kaduna, and I was posted from Mubi to Kaduna to take over the unit and given the mandate to quell the trouble in the Western Region.

How did the operations go?
I led the operation in Ibadan, and was later assigned to proceed to Owo with my men because of the brewing tension there. Later, I was asked to move the unit to Arigidi, a border town between the Northern and Western regions. While I was at Arigidi, we got a report that people were being killed at Somolu along Ikorodu Road in Lagos.

So the authorities ordered the unit again to the trouble spots in Lagos where we contained the mayhem. As part of the daily routine, we patrolled Ikorodu, Sagamu, Ibadan, and returned through Abeokuta, Sango-Ota, Agege and Ikeja. At a later stage, we experienced another outbreak of violence in Abeokuta, and were ordered to change base from Somolu to Sango-Ota to deal with the situation there.

What was the situation like at Ota?
I remained at Sango-Ota up to January 15th 1966, the day the first military coup took place in Nigeria. On the night of the coup, I was at a police checkpoint in Sango Ota when a convoy of Army Land Rover, Trucks, and two Peugeot saloon cars were moving from Lagos to Abeokuta and we had no cause to suspect anything sinister because they were military vehicles presumably on a complimentary patrol to restore order.

Little did I know that those military vehicles were indeed conveying the Nigerian leaders to their death. We were perhaps the last group of people that saw them alive. We later discovered the vehicle stopped about three kilometres away from our checkpoint and diverted into a nearby forest where they shot and killed the Prime Minister, Okotie-Eboh, and this was on a Friday night, January 15th 1966.

About an hour later these same military convoys came back and headed towards Lagos. The following morning we learnt that there was a military coup. While the chaotic situation remained, the prime minister, Alhaji Tafawa Balewa was reportedly removed from his residence and taken to an unknown location.

How did you discover where the Prime Minister and the minister were dumped?
I got a clue on the fourth day of his death I had gone to the clinic at Sango Ota to get medication at the only clinic then in the town that equally served as General Hospital, when I picked a loose conversation between some patients at the clinic. They said in Yoruba that there was an unpleasant smell around their neighbourhood, and they didn’t know what was causing it and I later found out that those women came from a village along Abeokuta highway.

What was your reaction to the clue ?
The nature of the operations dramatically changed as I divided my anti-riot unit squad into two. I deployed a unit to comb the area, and that was how we came across the spot in the forest where we beheld a horrible spectacle.

What did you discover?
We saw the decomposing corpses of the Prime Minister, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, Chief Okotie –Eboh, Colonel Kur Muhammad, Colonel Abogo Largema and two others. I was shocked and reported my findings to the Inspector General immediately through the nearest police station at Ikeja Provisional Headquarters where the officer in charge, Alhaji Kafaru Tinubu, allowed me access to use the facility. I told the IG that I had sighted and identified the dead bodies of the Prime Minister and others and that I was awaiting further instructions.

Incidentally the substantive IG, the late Mr. L O Edet was on leave and the late Alhaji Kam Salem was acting. I was subsequently directed to move to the Force Headquarters and to facilitate my quick arrival he asked me to use siren when coming to Lagos.

By the time I got to Lagos, General Aguiyi Ironsi had already taken over power as the first military Head of state and located himself to the Moloney Street Force Headquarters. Before I was let in, I was disarmed by the military personnel who were there waiting for me. They seized my weapons a gun and a pistol. They also went ahead to remove my boots, belt and cap before I was marched bare footed before the Inspector General who was sitting in company of the new Head of state, General Ironsi. As I arrived in the office, Kam Salem did not utter a word, but General Ironsi said to me in Hausa, “officer, Ka ce kaga gawar Prime Minister Abubakar Tafawa Balewa da ta wasu mutane”? meaning “Officer you said you have sighted the corpses of the Prime Minister, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa and others”? and I said “Yes, Sir”. General Ironsi asked again “How did you know him”? and I said “ well I had worked with the Sardauna of Sokoto as his Security officer, and Sardauna and Balewa were very close, and I knew the Prime Minister very well”.

What happened thereafter?
I was marched out, and General Ironsi directed I should be detained at the Naval Base, Apapa, but the IG told him that “if you wouldn’t mind we can put him in detention here in our own custody and produce him at any hour you want him.’‘ General Ironsi accepted the IG plea, and I was hounded into detention at Yaba Police station.

At about mid night the ADC to the late Prime minister, Mr Kaftan, and the then Madaki of Bauchi who was an in-law to Alhaji Tafawa-Balewa came with an ambulance and a truck full of coffins, secured my release and directed I should lead them to the spot where the corpses were.

What happened at the forest?
We saw the mangled body of the prime minister crumbled under a tree, his cap (zanna) was lying by his right side. He wore a pure white guinea brocade gown which had already changed colour. As a result of advanced decomposition, numerous worms were coming out from his body.
We rolled over a white cloth, and had to bring my weight on his knee in order to straighten it to get a perfect position. We attended to the prime minister body first before others, and I marked his coffin with an Arabic inscription to avoid mix up.

We conveyed his remain to the VIP section of the Ikeja airport where there were two waiting aircraft. The Prime Minister’s corpse was placed in the baggage compartment of one of the aircraft which was also conveying members of his immediate family back to Bauchi for burial.

In Bauchi, we took the corpse to his family house. No one could perform the ritual of washing the corpse as stipulated by Islamic injunction because it was already decomposing, water was simply sprayed on it and final prayers offered before he was laid to rest. After the burial, the IG directed that I should proceed on annual leave, which I did.

What would you have done if you knew what was happening?
Definitely if I had known that occupants of the military vehicles were eminent Nigerian leaders been driven to their death, I would certainly have intervened.

How?
We were more in number, about 53 well-armed mobile police officers at the roadblock, and they were few soldiers in the trucks and some senior officers in a Land Rover. We would have simply overwhelmed them. They might kill some of us but we would have killed all of them, while those who might have survived the shoot out would have lived to tell the story. I would have probably been a dead man by now. I would have saved them because I would have launched an attack.

Was there no sign to suggest the identity of the occupants?
I told you there was an emergency, and a curfew in the Western Nigeria, then an army truck believed to be on complimentary patrol. How would you have thought of something sinister? Military coup was strange to us then. But if I had a clue, I would have personally intervened and that would have been a big fight between us and the military.

What do you think is responsible for the current controversy over how Sir Abubakar died?
I would not know their motive, but by experience, there must be a motive by a clique to achieve a hidden agenda. Suddenly a man spoke, another one lent credence to the first speaker, then another repeated it. You ask yourself where did he see the corpse?

Where? How and the state of the bodies because I discovered them and guarded them until they were finally evacuated for burial. The other people who can lay claim to have seen the corpses were those patriotic officers that I went there with and the Madaki of Bauchi, Maitama Sule, Mr Tapgun, the ADC to the late Prime Minister, and a few military doctors who accompanied us with the coffin.

How is the North viewing this controversy?
I am convinced there is more to it than meets the eye. There is an undertone. I want to believe it’s a group thing, and would not be surprised if another person comes to dish out lies to the public again.

Were you surprised by the Mathew Mbu’s statement?
It is unfortunate. Look at a man like Matthew Mbu who at the age of less than 30 years was appointed Nigerian Ambassador to UK by Tafawa Balewa only to come and say what he said. Is Matthew Mbu a medical doctor to certify the cause of death? If the Prime Minister died of asthma as he erroneously reported, would he have been possible for him to give up the ghost in the bush with a cabinet member and some military officers on the eve of the first military coup?. The argument is not logical, and its sheer rubbish for people of high intellect to get involved in a pedestrian argument bereft of sound reasoning. Matthew Mbu doesn’t know anything about the issue he has raised.

Tragic Unbelievable Details About Barron Trump –

Published

on

By

Barron Trump is the youngest son of former president Donald Trump and the only son of Melania Trump. When his father was elected the 45th president of the United States, Barron relocated from his home in New York to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., becoming the first school-aged boy living in the White House in more than five decades. There has been a great deal of scrutiny of the Trump family over the years, and Barron has been caught up in the media storm more often than not — despite his parents’ attempts to keep him out of the public eye

Indeed, Melania has done her very best to try to keep her son’s name away from headlines and allow him to just be a kid, but that hasn’t always been easy, given the family’s fame and their subsequent dance with politics. “She is a doting mother to Barron and very protective of him,” a source told People magazine of Melania’s determination to ensure that her son is her priority. “She has always put him first. She is a good mother,” the source added. As Barron has gotten older, there have been many instances of unfortunate events in his life that will undoubtedly shape his future — and we’re taking a look at some of the most tragic details to date…Click Here To Continue Reading>> …Click Here To Continue Reading>>

Melania Trump’s pregnancy wasn’t planned

When Melania Trump found out that she was pregnant with her first child, it came as a bit of a surprise, as she and husband Donald Trump weren’t exactly trying to start a family together so soon. Donald already had four grown children from previous relationships at the time, and starting over with a newborn in diapers didn’t seem to be at the top of his to-do list. In fact, when Melania told her husband that she was pregnant, he wasn’t exactly ecstatic.

“He came home and I told him he’d be a daddy. And his reaction was … at first he needed to take it in. It was a real surprise. And then he was very happy,” the Slovenian-American former model told People magazine in 2006. Meanwhile, Donald recalled being surprised merely because the pregnancy happened so fast. “I expected we were going to have children, so I wasn’t totally surprised. But I was surprised by the speed of it,” he told the outlet.

From the jump, Melania and Donald worked out some details about how things would be through the labor and delivery process, and one thing was mutually agreed upon: Donald wasn’t going to be in the delivery room to get the first glimpse of his son — or cut the umbilical cord. “I think it’s easier for Melania if I’m not there,” Donald explained.

Barron was born on March 20, 2006, and life would never be the same.

He has switched schools frequently

Barron Trump was thrust into the spotlight when he was extremely young, thanks to his famous parents. While protecting Barron’s safety has always been important, the child’s photo seemed to pop up all over the place – and no one can deny that he was a super cute baby.

As Barron got a bit older and started going to school, he was seen less and less, which seems to have been by design. When he was young, Barron attended Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School located in New York’s Upper West Side of Manhattan, not too far from the family’s penthouse residence at Trump Tower. But when Donald Trump decided to run for president of the United States, Barron’s life got turned upside down — even if he wasn’t keenly aware of what was going on.

When Donald was elected president on November 8, 2016, there were major changes ahead for the whole clan, especially Barron, who was forced to switch schools when his family moved to Washington, D.C. Although his mother made the decision to stay in New York until Barron finished the school year, he was enrolled at St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Potomac, Maryland, forced to make all new friends and to learn a whole new routine.

However, when his father lost re-election in 2021, Barron was forced to switch schools once more — this time, in Florida. When the Trumps moved to Mar-a-Lago full-time, Barron was enrolled at Oxbridge Academy in Palm Beach — class of 2024.

Barron Trump was scared to move into the White House

When Donald Trump was elected as president, Barron Trump probably didn’t realize just how much things were about to change. Aside from moving out of New York City for the first time since he was born, Barron was going to be living in the White House, followed around by Secret Service, and he would become a target for every paparazzi lens within filming distance. Indeed, it was all a bit intimidating for the then-9-year-old.

“He does love New York and he loves his school. Not so much living in the White House,” Donald told People magazine in November 2016. “I can help so many young people and that’s when he really starts to understand that it’s a good thing, not a bad thing, but it’s a little scary for him because he think he is going to be taken away from his friends,” he added.

When he moved into the White House, Barron had everything any kid could ever dream of wanting, with a bowling alley, a swimming pool, and a movie theater within walking distance of his bedroom.

But becoming the First Son wasn’t exactly an easy transition. Nevertheless, Donald and Melania Trump did whatever they could to ensure that Barron wasn’t in the public eye. “It is a longstanding tradition that the children of Presidents are afforded the opportunity to grow up outside of the political spotlight,” the White House press office said in a statement after the inauguration, according to E! News.

While we may not know how much television Barron Trump was watching when he was living in the White House, we do know that he was often the butt of jokes, from late night television to internet trolls who took aim at the youngster simply because they don’t like his dad. One prime example of this happened in 2017 just after Donald Trump’s inauguration.

“Barron will be this country’s first homeschool shooter,” Katie Rich, a “Saturday Night Live” writer, tweeted at the time. According to USA Today, the tweet, which has since been deleted, caused Rich to be “suspended indefinitely.” There was also a great deal of criticism surrounding Barron’s clothing choices. The youngest Trump doesn’t have any responsibilities as the president’s son, but the least he could do is dress the part when he steps out in public,” reporter Ford Springer wrote in the Daily Caller in August 2017.

Comments like these set off a chain of responses from former first children, like Chelsea Clinton and Jenna Bush Hager, both of whom defended Barron against these unnecessary remarks. “The truth is, obviously, Barron Trump didn’t ask his dad to run for president.

It wasn’t his decision,” Hager told People magazine. Meanwhile, Clinton took to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, to share her feelings on the matter. “It’s high time the media & everyone leave Barron Trump alone & let him have the private childhood he deserves,” she wrote.

Barron Trump may have been used to having a security detail around his family during various times throughout his life, but having private security guards or a police escort from the NYPD is far different from having the Secret Service follow you wherever you go.

It was undoubtedly an adjustment for Barron when his dad was confirmed as the Republican presidential nominee, and things only got more intense from there. Since becoming the First Son, Barron hasn’t been able to go anywhere without someone in a suit discreetly keeping an eye on him and his surroundings, ensuring his safety. Even years after leaving the White House, Barron still has this layer of protection, even when he’s at school.

In fact, at the start of the school year at Oxbridge Academy in Palm Beach Florida, the school’s head, Ralph Mauer, sent a letter to the parents letting them know that the undercover agents would be on school property. “A small contingent of (Secret Service) agents will be present during each school day.

We are working directly with the Secret Service to ensure that logistics and security work smoothly and discreetly with little impact on students, faculty, staff, or day-to-day operations,” the letter read, according to First Coast News. According to the Former Presidents Protection Act of 2012, while former presidents receive Secret Service protection for life, their children are protected until the age of 16.

As if Barron Trump’s life hasn’t been hard enough, his parents’ marriage has been making headlines for years, with all kinds of reports that the two can’t stand each other and that Melania Trump has been wanting to file for divorce. And while a lot of that noise is just tabloid fodder, some of the chatter actually comes from people who have or had ties with the Trump family.

“Melania is counting every minute until he is out of office and she can divorce,” said Omarosa Manigault Newman, who developed a working relationship with Donald Trump when she was on “The Apprentice” and later was brought on as a White House Official, according to the Independent. “If Melania were to try to pull the ultimate humiliation and leave while he’s in office, he would find a way to punish her,” Newman added.

Of course, we don’t know how much news Barron is consuming on a daily basis, but as a high school student, he’s not the impressionable youngster he was when his dad became president.

And he also has the influence of people around him, who might bring things to Barron’s attention. Regardless, it can’t be fun to hear that your parents are wildly unhappy in their marriage and that your mom wants to leave your dad. And if Barron has access to TikTok? Forget it. All of those videos of Melania swatting her husband’s hand away can’t feel good to any kid.

Things have also gotten really serious for Barron Trump at times, going far beyond him needing to switch schools or move out of state. In August 2023, for example, a woman named Tracy Fiorenza made a court appearance after allegedly threatening to kill Barron.

She was arrested at her home in Chicago after authorities say that she sent a letter to the headmaster at Barron’s school in Florida that read, “I will state that I will shoot Donald Trump Sr. AND Barron Trump straight in the face at any opportunity I get” (per NBC Chicago).

“Fiorenza was charged with transmitting threats to kill or injure another person in interstate commerce in a criminal complaint,” NBC Chicago reports. It’s unclear how much Barron was aware of the threat or the subsequent arrest, but he appeared to be doing okay, despite what happened.

Regardless of what side of the political spectrum a person may fall on, it seems as though everyone can agree that there is no need to threaten a child. Some people took to social media sites such as Reddit to express exactly that. “Book, prosecute and sentence. Screw this scumbag, nobody should be threatening a child,” one Redditor commented on a thread. “Disgusting. Say whatever you want about Donald. He is in the public light because he wants to be. His son? A minor, no less? He is OFF LIMITS,” another Reddit user wrote.

Say what you will about Donald Trump, but no one can deny that the idea of your dad being on trial and possibly going to prison is terrifying for any kid — and Barron Trump is living out that nightmare in real time. The former president of the United States has been indicted on dozens of charges, including things to do with alleged hush money, election interference, classified documents, and more.

If convicted, Donald will more than likely face time behind bars, though the amount of time is just as uncertain as the potential convictions. When asked if he worries about going to prison, Donald responded, “I don’t even think about it. I’m built a little differently I guess, because I have had people come up to me and say, ‘How do you do it, sir? How do you do it?’ I don’t even think about it,” in an interview with NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

And while all of this is going on, Barron is simply trying to finish up his last year of high school, get into college, and move on with a life that he will eventually live on his own terms. For the time being, however, he’s in the middle of a media storm that won’t be winding down anytime soon. Why? Because Donald is running for president again, hoping to be elected in 2024.

She let a homeless man take a shower at her house, when he finished, he fainted at what he saw!

Published

A young woman helps a homeless man on a cold winter’s night and takes him home so he won’t freeze to death. But when he comes out of the bath unrecognizable, the young woman could never have dreamed of the shocking revelation that happened next.

On a cold winter’s evening, Holly, a 27-year-old young woman, was saying goodbye to her parents after a warm visit. “I’d better go home now, Mom, before the blizzard gets worse,” she said, wrapping her scarf around her neck.

As her car was in the workshop, she would have to walk back home. When they said goodbye, her elderly parents commented with a nostalgic tone, “Nights like these remind us of what happened.” The girl nodded in agreement with a sad smile on her lips before turning to face the snow that was beginning to fall more heavily. Her parents’ house was not far from hers, but the snow could quickly turn a simple walk into an arduous journey…Click Here To Continue Reading>> …Click Here To Continue Reading>>

Wrapped in her thick coat, Holly began to walk through the white-carpeted streets, watching the cars rushing past and the people taking shelter from the cold. As she walked, she passed a store whose window was still lit up, with a sales assistant tidying up the last few items. Further on, she saw a couple with two children laughing and playing in the snow. Watching those two little siblings throwing balls at each other, a thought invaded her mind. “Oh, how I wish you were here.”

Lost in her thoughts and memories, Holly didn’t notice an obstacle in front of her. Suddenly, she tripped over something soft. “Ouch!” the thing shouted in a weak voice. Surprised and worried, she quickly bent down to see what had happened. Because of the snow that was already piling up in the corners of the sidewalks, she hadn’t noticed that there was a homeless man curled up under a small blanket. The blanket was already white with snow, making him almost invisible in his surroundings.

“Oh my God, I’m sorry, I didn’t see you!” exclaimed the young woman, horrified at having accidentally stepped on the man. As the homeless man uncovered himself a little, the girl felt her heart squeeze at the sight of his condition. He was filthy, with unkempt hair and a dirty, crumpled beard. His face was so dirty that he looked more like an abandoned animal than a human being. In the biting cold, he looked like a figure forgotten by the world.

The homeless man looked at the young woman and, in a weak voice, assured her that he was fine, trying to cover himself again with the thin blanket that barely protected him from the intense cold. “Don’t worry about me, Miss, I’m used to it,” he said, trying to hide the tremor in his voice.

Holly, her heart broken by the scene, couldn’t help but be bothered by that soul lying there alone in the cold. The woman, with her instinct for care, knew that the man couldn’t spend the night on the street, especially on one of the coldest nights of the winter. “Sir, are you going to be all right there? I heard in the news that it’s going to be extremely cold tonight,” she said with concern and a voice full of empathy.

The homeless man, trying to maintain his dignity, told her not to worry. “It’s all right, Miss, don’t worry, I’ll be fine.” But suddenly, a loud growl from his belly interrupted the conversation, revealing his hunger and malnutrition. The sound was so loud that it was clear he hadn’t eaten for days.

The young woman, driven by a sense of humanity that had always guided her, knew she had to do something. She didn’t even think twice and suggested, “Please, sir, you can stay in my house for tonight. You’re hungry, and I’ll prepare some hot soup for you,” Holly insisted, her face lit up with the determination to help the man.

The man, a little surprised by the offer, looked at her suspiciously. “Why would you help me?” he asked, looking into her eyes for some sign of genuineness or falseness. After all, as a homeless person, he knew all too well how evil humans could be. “No one helps anyone for free,” he always thought.

Holly then introduced herself, telling him about her volunteer work in the church and how she had always felt that helping others was her mission in life. She spoke with such sincerity and conviction that a light of trust began to shine in the man’s eyes.

“Besides, you could use a warm bath. Please, come with me. It would be my pleasure to welcome you home tonight,” said the girl, feeling an almost inexplicable urge to help the stranger. She knew she was doing the right thing, even though something inside her seemed to be pushing her towards this act of kindness. It was a strange feeling, as if fate had put that man in her path for some special reason.

That young woman could never have predicted that that simple gesture of kindness was about to reveal a mystery that would change her life forever.

The homeless man accepted the invitation. He got up quickly, and some of the snow that had accumulated on his thin blanket fell off, revealing the harsh reality of his situation. His clothes, now visible under the fragile protection of the blanket, were a tangle of torn and tattered fabrics with holes that let the biting cold penetrate.

“I have my brother’s clothes at home. They will look great on you,” Holly said cheerfully as they started walking together through the snowy street. Each of the man’s steps left marks in the snow as silent testimony of a journey of suffering.

Along the way, the man introduced himself and expressed his deep gratitude. “My name is Toby,” he said, with a spark of hope shining in his tired eyes. The poor guy was visibly moved, and his expression had changed dramatically. It was as if life had suddenly given him a second chance, an unexpected miracle on that cold night.

Toby shared with Holly how he had accepted what he thought was his inevitable fate. “You know, lying there under that blanket, I was shivering so much that I thought, ‘At least tomorrow, I won’t wake up, and it won’t even have hurt,’” he revealed, his voice laced with emotion.

The man reflected on how his life had changed completely since the woman had stumbled upon him. From accepting imminent death to being about to take a hot bath and enjoy homemade soup, it was a turnaround that was almost unbelievable.

“I can’t thank you enough, Holly. Nobody ever does these things for us,” Toby said, his voice full of gratitude.

When they arrived at the young woman’s house, she welcomed him with a warm welcome. The man was amazed when he entered the house. It was a totally new experience for him. He had never been to a place like this. His nights had always been spent in the streets and alleys. Home was something he had only dreamed of but never thought he would one day set foot in one.

The homeless man’s emotion was unparalleled. He looked around, absorbing every detail of the house, every sound in the cozy atmosphere. Being inside a real home, away from the cold and loneliness of the street, seemed like a dream.

Holly, noticing Toby’s admiration and joy, said she would go and get her brother’s towels and clothes

for him. “Feel free to take a hot bath while I prepare dinner,” she suggested, eager to provide a little comfort to her new friend.

The man, with a smile lighting up his tired face, felt a surge of happiness. The prospect of a warm bath and a homemade meal was more than he could have imagined.

That night, he followed Holly through the house, still incredulous at her kindness and generosity, grateful for every moment of that unexpected turn in his life. As she handed Toby the clothes and towels, Holly said to him with a gentle smile, “I still have some of my brother’s things in the bathroom. You can use them to shave if you want. And don’t worry about the time. You can enjoy the shower as much as you like, okay?”

For the homeless man, this offer was a dream come true. The idea of finally being able to get rid of the filthy, unkempt beard that covered his face after years was almost unbelievable. He accepted the clothes and towels with a twinkle in his eye, grateful for every gesture of kindness from Holly.

While Toby enjoyed his bath, the girl started preparing the soup in the kitchen. She felt genuine happiness in her heart at being able to help someone so directly. She had always been involved in charity work, but taking a homeless person into her own home was a new and special experience. The feeling of saving a life from the blizzard outside filled her heart with joy and purpose.

“I think he’ll love the soup. I hope he likes carrots,” she thought as she carefully cut up the vegetables. When he finally finished setting the table, he heard the bathroom door open.

“Toby, the soup’s ready!” she shouted happily.

However, the moment the man entered the kitchen, Holly was paralyzed. To begin with, in front of her stood a completely transformed, unrecognizable man. So different from the homeless man she had met, with a clean face, no beard, wet and tied-up hair, and a fresh scent from the shower. Toby looked like a totally new person.

“Holly, I really can’t thank you enough. It was the best bath I had in my entire life,” he exclaimed with an expression of pure happiness and gratitude.

However, the girl couldn’t move. Her eyes were wide and full of tears. She seemed on the verge of fainting, completely shocked by Toby’s transformation. But there was another reason.

Toby, confused, asked if she was all right. The girl approached him, put her hand on his face, which was now clean and smooth, and began to cry uncontrollably.

“Oh my God, Cameron, you’re alive!” she sobbed, hugging him tightly.

The homeless man, still confused, felt a whirlwind of memories and flashes invade his mind. Misty images and forgotten feelings began to emerge, bringing with them an understanding of something deeply personal and surprising.

“I knew it! I knew you were alive! I’ve always said that! I’ve always said that I could still feel you! I knew it! Oh my God!” Holly screamed through her tears, holding him as if she never wanted to let go.

In the middle of the bright kitchen, two lost souls found each other. United by a past that they both thought was lost forever.

But what happened? Who was Cameron?

It turned out that the unexpected meeting between Holly and the homeless man, who now turned out to be none other than her missing twin brother Cameron, was an almost unbelievable outcome to a story marked by tragedy and mystery.

Almost 7 years before, when the siblings were just 20 years old, they were both nursing students and had taken part in a college excursion to take supplies to an indigenous tribe during a harsh winter. The snow was falling hard, and it looked like it was going to swallow up everything and everyone in the tribe.

They distributed blankets, clothes, hot soups, medical supplies, and many other items. It was a joy for the community, who felt welcomed, and the twins shared the same joy. They were always involved in charity work and loved seeing the smiles on people’s faces.

But on the journey back, their lives changed dramatically. The bus they were on was passing through a tortuous road in an area that was difficult to access and ended up in a terrible accident. The driver was unable to make a turn in time, and the tire slipped on the icy road. They ended up falling into a ravine and overturning.

Several students were injured, and there were two tragic deaths: the driver and Cameron’s, or so they thought. He was standing at the time of the accident, walking down the aisle, and was thrown out of the bus. The young man’s body was never found, leaving his family in deep agony.

The twins’ parents did everything in their power, exhausting their financial resources and hiring investigators in the hope of finding at least their son’s body for a proper farewell. They did this for years until one day they gave up and accepted the idea that they would never see their boy again.

But Holly, deep in her heart, always felt that her brother was still alive. This feeling persisted for the next 7 years. What the family didn’t know was what really happened to Cameron after the accident.

He was thrown out of the bus and collapsed in the woods. When he woke up, he was disoriented, alone, and wounded, with no memory of who he was or where he came from. The boy wandered aimlessly, following the course of a river until he reached a neighboring town.

Since he had no identification and was completely confused, he ended up living on the streets. It took a while before he managed to join up with other homeless people who accepted him as part of their group. The men, realizing his amnesiac state, took pity on the boy and gave him the name Toby, a way of avoiding calling him John Doe.

“At least now you’ve got a name, Toby,” they said.

So Toby spent the next seven years as a homeless man, moving from town to town in search of food and handouts. That particular year, with the winter being harsher than usual, many of his street friends froze to death. It was sad for the young man to have to deal with the loss every morning. He was already very shaken, and he knew that his time would come sooner than he could have predicted.

So Toby, having already moved around several times, ended up in the same town where his family lived. And in a moment of fate or coincidence, when he had already accepted the end of his life, shivering in the cold that night with the biggest snowfall of the year, Holly, his sister, stumbled upon him.

This shocking and exciting discovery brought a flood of feelings to both of them. For the young woman, it was confirmation that her brother hadn’t died, and for Toby, or rather now Cameron, it was the rediscovery of a past he had forgotten.

Holly’s reunion with her twin brother Cameron was a mixture of sadness and joy. Sitting at the table, savoring the warm soup the girl had prepared, she began to tell him about what had happened during the years of his absence. The young man, now 27, listened attentively, trying to connect the pieces of a past that were slipping from his memory.

Holly explained the origin of their names. His parents, passionate about travel when they were young, had chosen their names as tributes to the two trips they loved the most: one

to Holland and the other to Cameroon in Africa. Cameron listened fascinated, each detail revealing a little more of his lost identity.

“I’ve kept your things all these years,” said the sister. “I always knew that one day you would come back. I knew you were alive. I always felt it. Oh my God, you’re really here!” she cried.

The moment was emotional and tearful. The young man felt as if he was emerging from a long sleep, waking up to a life he had forgotten but which was now beginning to make a little more sense.

The next day, Holly and Cameron went to their parents’ house. The reunion scene was indescribably emotional. Seeing their missing son, the parents almost collapsed with surprise and joy.

“Oh my God, my son, my son!” exclaimed his mother, with trillions of tears streaming down her face, while his father hugged him with a mixture of shock and happiness.

The reunion was marked by a lot of crying, tight hugs, and words of love and relief. Despite the joy of the reunion, everyone knew that it would take time for Cameron to fully recover his memories and readapt to family life. However, he felt incredibly blessed to finally have a family and a home to call his own, something he never thought he would have when he was living on the streets.

In a single night, Cameron’s life had been radically transformed. From a lonely, forgotten homeless man ready to succumb in the snow, he had once again become a member of a loving family who had sought him out and wanted him for so many years.

“I’m home,” he reflected as he looked at the familiar faces around him. “I’m home at last.”

Over time, the young man, who was accompanied by therapists, managed to fully recover his memories and his life. He went back to nursing school and became a very kind man. His main goal was to give the homeless, who were once homeless themselves, a decent life, at least in winter.

He gathered resources, and he and his sister opened a shelter for the homeless. The place could house 700 people, 700 lives that they helped on dark, cold days like the one he had been rescued from. And above all, no matter what happened, they knew that despite the challenges of life, they would be together, he, Holly, and his parents, rebuilding the bonds that had once been broken but were now being carefully mended.

Map Shows Safest Countries if There Is Nuclear War and Famine

A map shows the countries that would be safest from the effects of famine caused by nuclear war, according to a specific simulation.

With conflicts all over the world showing no sign of coming to an end any time soon, there is much talk of nuclear war on the international stage.

A nuclear explosion and its radiation, heat and blast effects would result in devastating, widespread death quickly—but it would also have massive impacts on the food supply, given the changes it would cause to the atmosphere, surface, oceans and ability to trade internationally.

Some 6.7 billion people would die of starvation, according to a model previously studied by Nature Food, a journal for research about food production…Click Here To Continue Reading>> …Click Here To Continue Reading>>

Countries that would see no population loss include Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay, Costa Rica, Panama, Haiti, Australia, Iceland and Oman, according to the study.

In these regions (colored in green on Newsweek‘s map), “food consumption can support the current physical activity in that country.”

This is opposed to parts of the world that would experience death as a result of starvation (colored in red on Newsweek‘s map), which include the U.S., Canada, most of Europe and Russia.

There are some nations that would not suffer from starvation but would see calorie intake reducing to such a point that it “would cause people to lose weight, and only sedentary physical activity would be supported.”

This scenario, theoretically looking at the second year of nuclear war, is based on a “partial livestock case,” in which 50 percent of livestock grain would be used for human food and the other 50 percent to feed and raise surviving livestock.

For comparison, the other scenarios are the “livestock case,” in which livestock production is continued, and the “no livestock case,” in which all livestock is killed in year one and 50 percent of livestock grain is used for human consumption.

All three scenarios, which used population and average calorie intake status figures from 2010, assumed no international trade.

In the “partial livestock case,” 312.2 million people in the U.S. would die from starvation—that is, 98 percent of the population.

Newsweek has contacted the U.S. Department of Defense for comment.

Last year, a study published in the journal Physics of Fluids calculated where in a building might be safest to shelter in the case of a nuclear bomb being detonated nearby. READ FULL STORY HERE>>>CLICK HERE TO CONTINUE READING>>>

Assuming that the building is not inside the initial fireball of the blast, in which everything and everyone would be vaporized, the main danger other than radiation is the massive blast wave that comes after the explosion. The study found that the best place to shelter is in a sturdy building at the far end of the room from any door or window, and ideally in a corner.

The study authors, from the University of Nicosia in Cyprus, used advanced computer modeling to investigate how a 750-kiloton—around three times as powerful as Nagasaki’s “Fat Man” in Japan in 1945—nuclear blast wave and the high-speed winds that follow would move through a building, and how strong the forces are throughout a room.

The study comes as former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, an ally of Vladimir Putin, has said Russia’s newly battle-tested missile is impervious to Western air defenses and can reach European capitals within minutes.

“Europe is wondering what damage the system can cause if the heads are nuclear, whether it is possible to shoot down these missiles and how quickly the missiles will reach the capitals of the Old World,” Medvedev posted to Telegram on Sunday. “The answer: the damage is unacceptable, it is impossible to shoot down with modern means and we are talking about minutes.”

Earlier this month, Putin approved changes to Russia’s nuclear doctrine, which included lowering the threshold for a nuclear response.

Russia had previously warned of a nuclear response if “the very existence of the state is threatened” although many have argued over what this meant.

The revised guidelines now refer to “a critical threat” to “sovereignty” as well as the “territorial integrity” of Russia and Belarus.

Paragraph 10 says that Russia will perceive the aggression of any state from a bloc or alliance as an aggression of this coalition “as a whole.” The 11th paragraph says aggression against Russia “and/or its allies by any non-nuclear state with the participation or support of a nuclear state shall be considered as a joint attack.”

Newsweek has broken down four significant changes to Russia’s nuclear doctrine here.

Fears over the escalation of Putin’s war in Ukraine have intensified over the last few weeks, especially after President Joe Biden decided to allow Ukraine to use U.S.-made, long-range missiles to strike targets in Russia.

After this, Ukraine used long-range ATACMS missiles against a target inside Russia for the first time last week.

This all followed Moscow’s deployment of North Korean troops to the front lines in the Kursk region, an action described by the Biden administration as a significant escalation of the conflict.
