Doctor Ishola Oyenusi tied to the stake

Who Was Dr Ishola Oyenusi?

Ishola Oyenusi, popularly known as Doctor Oyenusi, was a notorious armed robber who terrorized the people of Lagos and other neighbouring cities in the 1970s. Ishola Oyenusi and his gang of six were highly skilled in snatching cars, robbing banks, factories, stores and killing people like chickens.

Was Ishola Oyenusi Really A Medical Doctor?

Dr Oyenusi, as he was called, was not a doctor by profession but adopted the title for the fun of it. The evidence lies in a confession he made few minutes before his execution…Click Here To Continue Reading>> …Click Here To Continue Reading>>

He confessed that his parents were not capable of furthering his secondary school education and that was what forced him into robbery. So without having a secondary school education, Oyenusi by no way could have been a medical doctor.

Oyenusi’s Robbery Exploits

Oyenusi started off his robbery career by snatching a car (whose owner died in the process) just because his (Oyenusi) girlfriend needed some money. It was claimed by some sources that Oyenusi was romantic.

He sold the car at the price of N400 and gave the money to his girlfriend. It was also said that Oyenusi was hot-tempered and quite arrogant. During his arrest, he thundered down on a police officer who was ushering him around. He said, “people like you don’t talk to me like that when I’m armed, I gun them down!”

Doctor Ishola Oyenusi came into the limelight after the Nigerian civil war ended in 1970. He robbed banks and people in both daylight and night, and he never let any of his victims live to see another day; he killed them all! This earned him the name “Doctor rob and kill“.

At the height of his horrific reign, Ishola Oyenusi bragged that “the bullet has no power“. He probably forgot that he who live by the sword will surely die by the sword. Oyenusi was so infamous that he was regarded by some people as the “first celebrated armed robber in Nigeria“, and after him was Lawrence Anini, Babatunde Folorunsho (Baba oni lace), Shina Rambo, Buraimo Jimoh and others.

Ishola Oyenusi’s Arrest

However, nothing lasts forever, and as the Yoruba adage says, everyday belongs to the thief while a day belongs to the owner.

On the 27th of March, 1971, Oyenusi was nabbed by the police during one of his robbery operations in which he and his notorious gang killed a police constable named Mr. Nwi and stole $28,000 as at then. Cloud of shame hovered above Doctor Ishola Oyenusi as he was casted before the law and found guilty then sentenced to death by firing squad.

Oyenusi confessed that he was not to die alone because he did not commit the crimes alone.

He vomited the names of other members of the gang which included: Joseph Osamedike, Ambrose Nwokobia, Joel Amamieye, Philip Ogbolumain, Ademola Adegbitan and Stephen Ndubuokwu.

Back then, public execution was the order of the day, so when Oyenusi was ushered to the popular Bar Beach in Lagos where he was to be executed, over 30,000 Nigerians were happily and excitedly waiting to see the man who had terrorized them get riddled by hot bullets. It was said that some civil servants even brought a coffin to the execution ground to mock the once mighty robber kingpin who was now nothing but a scapegoat whose breath would be exhausted in any moment.

Ishola Oyenusi’s Execution

Trucks carrying Oyenusi and his executors arrived at the execution ground around 10:am. Doctor Oyenusi, his gang members and one other criminal got down slowly.

People jeered and booed them, especially Oyenusi who they had really trooped out to watch die. Oyenusi donned a dark long-sleeve shirt and had his hands tied behind him.

He was sweating profusely but managed to smile all the way to the stakes. He kept smiling, smiling and smiling but could still not hide the agony and terror written boldly on his face.

Few minutes before he was shot, Oyenusi told journalists that he would not have ventured into armed robbery if his parents were capable of sending him to secondary school.

He also said, “I am dying for the offence I have committed“. Oyenusi and other criminals were fastened to the stakes. The soldiers lined in front of them and aimed their ever-ready guns. Some of the criminals yelled their last words of protest at the cameras. Then a loud voice let out the word “fire”! Oyenusi and other criminals’ bodies were sprayed with bullets.

That was the bitter end of Ishola Oyenusi who lived by the bullets and died by the bullets. The execution of Doctor Ishola Oyenusi sent the streets of Lagos deserted at night. Families locked themselves behind doors for the fear that some of Oyenusi’s boys might retaliate.

This fear lasted long that even in 1977, the veteran movie director, Eddie Ugbomah, called for actors to play the role of Oyenusi in a movie he was about to produce titled “The Rise and Fall of Dr Oyenusi”, but no actor was brave enough to step forward to play the role.

They all feared that Oyenusi’s boys might show them pepper. Eddie Ugbomah had no choice than to play the role of Oyenusi himself. In the movie, he revealed the secrets of top Nigerian officials and military men backing Oyenusi and his gang by providing them money and weapons.

As expected, Eddie Ugbomah was threatened and later, his store was looted. He was told in a letter to stop shooting the movie and everything would be returned to him. But Eddie Ugbomah proved not to be a coward by eventually releasing the movie in 1977.

In recent times, a Nollywood actor, Odunlade Adekola, also released a movie (Oyenusi) detailing the life of Ishola Oyenusi, the most notorious Nigerian armed robber.

The name Ishola Oyenusi will forever be remembered in the history of crime in Nigeria.

After Husband’s Death,Widow Finds Old Suitcase He Hid from Her for over 50Years, When She Opened It Found Something Strange –

Published

By

When Margaret Freeman was 18, she made a decision that would affect the rest of her life: she married sweet, funny Daniel Hernandez whom her wealthy father disapproved of.

“You marry that low-life and you’ll get nothing from me Margaret!” her father had screamed. “You’ll see what love really is when you get to live in a one-bedroom rat-hole with roaches crawling up the walls!”

But Margaret didn’t listen. She was sure she would never regret loving Daniel. Ever…Click Here To Continue Reading>> …Click Here To Continue Reading>>

At first, it was romantic to go home to that tiny apartment (there were no rats and roaches — there was no space). Margaret found herself a job as a receptionist in a big hotel, and Daniel started working for the post office.

“Job security, love,” Daniel had explained when Margaret urged him to find a higher-paying job. “I have to know there’s going to be a pension to keep us when we are old!”

Margaret understood Daniel’s obsession with security. Hadn’t he watched his mother live on the pittance social welfare awarded her after his father died in a work accident at a construction site? He’d been an illegal, no insurance, no pension for his widow and five children.

Daniel was determined the same thing wouldn’t happen to Margaret or their children. Working for the post office, Daniel believed, would give them that assurance.

But two modest salaries didn’t go far with two children to raise. Even though they were frugal, every cent Margaret and Daniel earned, they spent. There was precious little leftover for savings.

Then their two children grew up, left home, and started their own lives — their son moved to Alaska, and their daughter to Brazil, and Margaret and Daniel were right back where they had started.

It was around this time that Margaret’s father passed away. Apparently, time and Margaret’s happiness hadn’t softened his heart because he left his entire, very considerable estate to his youngest son, who was untroubled by twinges of conscience.

Once you give in to doubt, it can destroy your peace of mind.
Daniel was devastated. “This is what loving me cost you, Margaret!” he said bitterly. “The life you deserved!”

“No!” Margaret told him firmly. “I wouldn’t trade what we have for all the money in the world!”

But Daniel grew silent and distant, and for the first time in thirty-eight years of marriage, Margaret started wondering if he still loved her.

Then Daniel started taking on overtime at work, a lot of overtime. “It’s this new overnight delivery mail, it has to be sorted 24/7…” he explained. But Margaret noticed that when Daniel came home at two or three in the morning, he smelled different.

He smelled of lilies, and Margaret had never liked lily-scented soap. It reminded her of her paternal grandmother, a woman she had never liked. Daniel smelled of lilies, and he didn’t make love to Margaret anymore unless it was the weekend…

At first, Margaret told herself it was her imagination, but things didn’t change. Two years later, Daniel still came home every night, still smelled of lilies, and worse of all, there was no extra money in their joint account.

Margaret tried to broach the subject with Daniel once, but he snapped at her. “Do I have to account for what I spend too? It’s my money, I earned it!”

After that, Margaret didn’t say another word and wept in silence when he came home every night and turned his back on her in the same bed they had conceived their children.

They never talked about their plans for their retirement anymore, and Daniel’s ‘overtime’ left them few opportunities to work through what was destroying their marriage. When the weekends came around, he locked himself in the garage fiddling with god-knew-what and only came out for meals.

From considering herself the happiest woman in the world, Margaret was sure she was the most miserable. All her dreams had evaporated into thin air, and she even started doubting if Daniel had ever loved her.

Margaret and Daniel had just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary when Daniel had a heart attack. Margaret knew what the prognosis was even before the doctor spoke. He shook his head slowly. READ FULL STORY HERE>>>CLICK HERE TO CONTINUE READING>>>

“Mrs. Hernandez,” he told Margaret, “I think you should prepare yourself for the worse. Your husband’s heart is just plain worn out. The only option would be a heart transplant, and his age places him low on the list…”

“He’s sixty-nine,” gasped Margaret. “He’s only sixty-nine, he promised he was going to retire…” That night Margaret called her children and they flew to New York to say their goodbyes, along with Anna, Margaret’s only grandchild.

Two weeks later it was all over. Daniel was gone, and even though he had spoken lovingly to his children and grandchild about the past, he had only held Margaret’s hand in silence.

“Margaret,” he’d whispered on his last day on earth. “I love you, only you, I always have…” Those were his last words, and a meager comfort after so many years of doubts and unhappiness.

Margaret’s son and daughter wept for their father, but they had their own lives to live, so they left soon after the funeral. It was Anna who stayed behind to help Margaret come to terms with her empty house, her blasted life.

The day after her children left, Margaret got up and decided she was going to make a clean sweep of the past. With Anna’s help, she packed every one of Daniel’s personal belongings into cardboard boxes for Goodwill.

She was closing the last box when a whiff of lilies assaulted her senses. She found herself screaming hoarsely, kicking the box over, spilling all the carefully folded contents.

Anna was there to hold her and soothe her, and somehow the whole story poured out. “He’s been cheating on me for the last 12 years, coming to my bed every night smelling of another woman;” Margaret sobbed. “And his last words to me were a lie!”

The tears and confiding her pain helped, and Anna suggested they tackle Daniel’s garage, clean the last bits of Margaret’s pain out. The two women walked into the garage and started sorting through the accumulated junk of a lifetime.

Then in one corner, Anna found an old suitcase with rusty locks. She was about to throw it out, but it felt quite heavy, so she decided to open it first. There was no key, but the use of an old spanner and a hammer soon had the suitcase open.

Grandma…” Anna gasped. “Please come here…” Margaret dropped the tin full of nails she’d been sorting through and came to her granddaughter’s side. The suitcase was open, and inside were neatly wrapped packs of $20 bills and an old journal.

“Where did this come from?” gasped Margaret. “This is a lot of money!”

Anna opened the journal. “Grandma,” she said softly. “You need to read this…I think he started saving every penny he could when you got married…Oh! This is from 12 years ago! Listen: ‘Today I started working at the NYC sanitation department, the sewer cleaning night shift.

“‘It’s not an easy job, but it pays a lot better than my day job, and I have to make sure of Margaret’s future. Her father was right. I am a loser. I cost her everything, but I am determined to give at least a small part of it back.

“‘I don’t want Margaret to know, so I told her I’m doing sorting of the overnight mail, and take a shower before coming home every night. I’m not bringing that stench into our home.’”

Margaret was weeping silently as Anna read out Daniel’s account of his double life. “Look, gran, he writes in what he is packing into the suitcase every month… There is a total of nearly $300,000!”

Margaret looked into that battered old suitcase at the living proof of her husband’s unconditional love, and his willingness to sacrifice anything for her. “Oh Daniel,” she whispered. “And I wasted so much time in bitterness…”

What can we learn from this story?

Trust is the cornerstone of love, and once you give in to doubt, it can destroy your peace of mind. Margaret believed her husband was cheating when he was working the most unpleasant of jobs to guarantee her future.

True love will go to any lengths to care for the beloved. Daniel would do anything to make sure Margaret was alright, and he ended up sacrificing his health.

A Guy Caught His Girlfriend Cheating, But Instead Of Flipping Out He Got A Very Public Revenge –

Published

When Dustin Holloway walked into his home, the last thing he expected to find was his girlfriend asleep in bed with another man. But rather than flipping out, Holloway reacted calmly and quickly got his revenge. It a very public for him to kill. Texas native Dustin Holloway spent his days working as a Superintendent in the construction industry. His work had taken him from his home state all the way to Louisiana and back again

In the Lone Star State, 23-year-old Holloway had made his home with his girlfriend. And although that sounds like the beginning of a happily ever after story, Holloway walked in on a scene that he could have never expected. One night, Holloway found his girlfriend fast asleep in bed and snuggled up. Next to her was another man. Many people would agree that an incensed reaction from Holloway would be valid here…Click Here To Continue Reading>> …Click Here To Continue Reading>>

Instead, Holloway said on Facebook that he had gone through a series of different options. He first considered fighting the man in bed next to his girlfriend. Holloway also said he tried waking her up, but she was drunk as a skunk and passed out, he wrote. If he had woken her up, Holloway said, he was going to ask if I was going to have to sleep in the spare bedroom. He only jokingly added he wanted to know what kind of breakfast the dude liked.

But Holloway’s girlfriend didn’t stir. So rather than seeking answers or starting a fight, Holloway resorted to a vengeful option. The construction supervisor whipped out his phone and began taking photos of the apparently loved-up pair with his face in the picture, too. Then Holloway posted the string of telling selfies online, according to The Sun. He came up with a spicy caption for the post.

He wrote when you come home to another man in your bed with the one you loved. Holloway concluded his post by declaring, Good men deserve good women, and with that, he shared his sentiments and the photos on Facebook where they were seen, shared, and commented on by thousands. Most of those who saw the picture praised Holloway for his course of action. One Commenter said he acted like the bigger person in the situation. She also wrote I’m sure one day you’ll find someone will think the world of you.

Another woman assured Holloway that he wasn’t alone. The exact same happened to her, although her instinct didn’t ever reach for a camera. I caught my husband with another woman. I went downstairs to the kitchen and made a cup of tea, she wrote. Of course, not everyone agreed with Holloway’s course of action.

A third woman chimed in to say, Taking pictures and blasting them on the web does not make you a better man. Calmly walking away and just accepting what happened and not seeking revenge makes you a better man. Still, after his post went viral, Holloway logged on to Facebook once more to thank those who had lent their support through the social media site yesterday. I thought my world fell apart. I was heartbroken to ever witness anything like that, he wrote. READ FULL STORY HERE>>>CLICK HERE TO CONTINUE READING>>>

I had thousands of messages from thousands of people from all over the world congratulating me on being a better man and walking away. I have pride and respect. I’m amazed at the way this turned out, Holloway wrote. Then Holloway said the ordeal’s viral aftermath wasn’t quite what he wanted either. I don’t care to be known all over.

I could care less. And he went on. I know good people deserve the best. I’m officially amazed at this. There’s no need in bashing someone when they’re down

It was wrong, Holloway went on. But the better person is always the best way. The best feeling is when someone appreciates everything about you that someone took for granted, the 23-year-old concluded. Nevertheless, Holloway wasn’t the first person in a relationship to discover his significant other was cheating. Nor was he the last to expose their ways to the world

In fact, a man in Buenos Aires, Argentina used a similar method to confront his girlfriend. A 22-year-old named Mariano had a significant other but had decided to attend a party solo one evening. Well, there he noticed a girl canoeing with another guy at the party, and then Mariano realized who she was. The woman in question was Mariano’s girlfriend but he didn’t flip out seeing her cheating right before his eyes. Instead, he grabbed his cell phone and snapped a selfie in front of his girlfriend and her kissing partner.

Then he uploaded the photo with a hilarious caption. My girlfriend now X didn’t realize we came to the same party, Mariano wrote. The photo he shared of the incident like Holloway snapshots went viral and the popular tweet was actually how Mariano’s girlfriend found out that he knew what she thought.

This Man Died For 7 Minutes Reveals What He Saw In The Afterlife And How He Escaped Death –

In a remarkable story about life, death, and the mysteries of what comes after, actor Shiv Grewel shares his incredible experience with the afterlife. In 2013, Grewel suffered a sudden cardiac arrest and was declared dead for seven full minutes. His account of what happened during that time is both fascinating and unforgettable.

On that life-changing day, Grewel and his wife, Alison, were enjoying a peaceful lunch at a French restaurant in southeast London. Grewel felt perfectly fine during the meal. However, as they headed home, he suddenly felt exhausted and struggled to communicate. His condition worsened, leaving Alison deeply concerned…Click Here To Continue Reading>> …Click Here To Continue Reading>>

Worried about his health, Alison quickly called NHS Direct for guidance. Unfortunately, Grewel’s health deteriorated rapidly, and his heart stopped beating.

Thankfully, paramedics arrived just in time. They performed CPR, reviving Grewel from what seemed like certain death. In a miraculous turn of events, he regained consciousness after being clinically dead for seven minutes.

Grewel has vividly described what he experienced during those seven minutes. He recalls feeling a sense of awareness, saying, “I knew, somehow, that I was dead. I could feel my brain dying and calling for help. But at the same time, I felt something completely separate from my body. It was as if I was floating in a void, yet I could still sense emotions and feelings.”

He refers to his experience in the afterlife as a “cosmic journey,” a term he uses to describe the strange and surreal visions he had during this time. Inspired by these profound experiences, Grewel has turned his journey into art, showcasing his emotions and reflections through paintings in his exhibition, ‘Reboot,’ held at the Karma Sanctum Hotel in London. READ FULL STORY HERE>>>CLICK HERE TO CONTINUE READING>>>

During his time in the afterlife, Grewel believes he was given several options, including the possibility of reincarnation. However, his desire to return to the physical world, to be with his wife, remained strong. “I demanded that I come back, and I got my wish,” he confidently shared.

He likens the afterlife to a “waking dream,” where he existed without a body but was still acutely aware of emotions and sensations. He remembers feelings of weightlessness, similar to swimming in water, and surreal visions of the moon and falling meteorites, giving him a sense of connection to something greater than himself.

When Grewel returned to life, it wasn’t without its challenges. He required several medical treatments, including the placement of a stent in his main artery and being placed in a medically induced coma to stabilize him. Even five years later, he struggles with mobility and speech difficulties and has developed epilepsy. Despite these physical challenges, his experience with the afterlife has deeply affected him.

As a person who once considered himself “scientifically-minded,” Grewel’s perspective on death has changed dramatically. Although he was initially skeptical about the idea of an afterlife, his experience has led him to accept that something exists beyond life. His views on death are now more complex—he feels less afraid of it, but he’s also more mindful of how precious life is.

Eager to share his new outlook, Grewel stresses the importance of kindness. He sees it as a “fundamental truth” that humanity must embrace for growth and improvement. In a world where the answers about life after death remain unclear, Shiv Grewel’s incredible journey offers a glimpse into the unknown and a deeper appreciation for the beauty of life and the connections that make it meaningful.
