Dying little boy sat up and said four words, then he closed his eyes forever leaving them in tears

Nolan Scully was only four years old when he died. He had been seriously ill, and doctors weren’t able to do anything more for him. But before he slipped away, he wanted to tell his mom something, and his poignant last words were nothing short of heartbreaking Back in November 2015, Ruth and Jonathan Scully from Leonardtown, Maryland, received news that any parent would dread. In short, their four-year-old son, Nolan, was given a terrifying diagnosis…Click Here To Continue Reading>> …Click Here To Continue Reading>>

He had a rare form of cancer, known as rhabdomyosarcoma, which was affecting the soft tissue in his body. Therefore, doctors told his parents that the boy needed to start a tough regimen of treatment to fight the disease. This routine would include a 43-week schedule of grueling chemotherapy sessions, as well as five and a half weeks of radiotherapy.

The first round of chemo, moreover, was very rough on Nolan’s little body, as his parents would write on the GoFundMe page they set up in order to help them pay for the treatment.

Nolan’s mom and dad also described watching their son’s suffering as the hardest thing in the world. And while Nolan kept fighting on throughout the treatment, the cancer was still attacking his body.

As a result, the boy’s family was called in at the start of February 2017 to meet with his oncologist. The sadness in the specialist’s eyes said all they needed to know. However, the doctor explained how a CT scan had revealed tumors that were compressing both Nolan’s bronchial tubes and heart.

Ruth would later explain that the cancer had spread like wildfire. As a consequence, there wasn’t anything more that continued treatment could do for her son. All there was left to do then was to make sure that Nolan was kept comfortable.

He was staying in a hospice by this point. The plan, however, was to let him have just one more night in the family home. But the sick four-year-old told his mom that he wanted to stay put, and she respected his wishes.

Over the next 36 hours, Nolan watched videos on YouTube and played with those closest to him. He even created a will of sorts for his family. Heartbreakingly, Nolan also drew a picture of what he wanted his funeral to be like. He chose who he’d like to carry his coffin and told his parents what he thought the congregation should wear.

He even made sure to tell his family that he’d like to be remembered as a policeman. And all the while, Nolan wanted his mom by his side. There was one instance in which he relented, however. When Ruth asked him if it was okay for her to have a shower, he agreed on the condition that his uncle would sit with him instead.

So Nolan turned in the direction of the bathroom and watched his mom close the door. As the door shut, though, Nolan closed his eyes and fell into a deep sleep. READ FULL STORY HERE>>>CLICK HERE TO CONTINUE READING>>>

When his mom came out of the bathroom, she could see her son’s support team gathered around his bed. Naturally, it was a moment of high emotion. The medical staff would go on to reveal that Nolan wasn’t able to feel anything. He was also having difficulty breathing because one of his lungs had collapsed. Without hesitating, his mom climbed into bed next to him.

And while Ruth knew she was going to lose her son soon, perhaps no one could have predicted what happened next and what Ruth would later describe as a miracle. Nolan opened his eyes again. He still had something he wanted to say to his mom.

So Nolan turned his gaze towards his mother and uttered the poignant words, “I love you, Mommy.” Then, just before midnight on February 7th, 2017, with Ruth singing to him, little Nolan passed away. And there’s little doubt that the four-year-old’s final words will be forever etched on his mom’s heart.

In a touching Facebook post published two months after Nolan died, Ruth would go on to tell the world about her son’s last message. In the update, she also expressed the pain of losing him. Ruth wrote, “Nolan woke up out of a coma to say he loved me with a smile on his face. My son died a hero.

He brought communities together, different occupations made a difference in people’s lives all around the world. He was a warrior who died with dignity and love to the last second.” The post, which would go viral, included two photographs.

The first showed Nolan lying on a bathmat while his mom showered. The second image, however, featured the same mat but without Ruth’s son. Ruth would go on to write in the Facebook post,

“Now I’m the one terrified to shower with nothing but an empty shower rug where once a beautifully perfect little boy laid waiting for his mommy.” The post itself, meanwhile, was shared over 700,000 times.

Ruth made a post on the social media site not only to pay tribute to a brave hero of a son but also to spread awareness of her son’s aggressive cancer. She commented that Nolan didn’t get to live a long life and called for the world to do better with funding research and treatment options.

The mom continued, “All Nolan ever wanted to do was to serve and protect others. He did just that all the way up to his last breath and continues to do so every day.” And through her, Nolan’s legacy as a brave little policeman continues to live on.

How The People of Ara-Ekiti Committed Mass Suicide To Avoid Enslavement in 1855

Published

By

The mass suicide was initiated by the leader of Ara town, Alara Elejofi, who (with the help of his first son) destroyed his properties, killed his family and himself. Many other households in the town replicated this act, and when the Ibadan army arrived with their wide array of weaponry, they turned back at the gory sight of dead bodies that littered the town…Click Here To Continue Reading>> …Click Here To Continue Reading>>

Earlier, the people of Ara had rebelled against their former Alara (ruler) because of his bad governance and the grevious offences he had committed against his townspeople. He was exiled. It was during his exile that Chief Elejofi took over the rulership of the town.

The exiled Alara was not willing to let go of his throne and thus sought help from Ibadan. His request was granted because Ibadan, which as at then was gradually filling the vacuum created by the fall of Oyo, was hungry for towns to shove under its administration. The Ibadan army had just returned from an expedition in Ijebu-Ere and with their help, the deposed Alara returned to Ara and was fearfully accepted.

Shortly after Ibadan restored the deposed Alara of Ara, its army attacked Ikoro, another town in Ekiti, because they prevented Ibadan army from foraging on their crops, and also because there were rumours that Ikoro was planning to attack the Ibadan army.

During the attack on Ikoro, some other towns in Ekiti, including Ara-Ekiti, tried to defended Ikoro. The restored Alara prevented his townspeople from joining the fight against Ibadan, hence another unrest ensued in the town. Ibadan eventually defeated Ikoro and went ahead to punish the towns that helped Ikoro during the war, including Ara. READ FULL STORY HERE>>>CLICK HERE TO CONTINUE READING>>>

During this period, Chief Elejofi had again taken over the rulership of Ara and held on to it for some months before it eventually crumbled due to starvation, and to avoid being enslaved by Ibadan, the people of Ara-Ekiti committed an unprecedented mass suicide. This incident is quite similar to the mass suicide of Igbo slaves off the U.S. coast in 1803.

The town of Ara was left deserted for many years before some of its exiled descendants returned home. Ara suicide remains one of the most disturbing chapters in the history of Ekiti and the entire Yoruba land.

Prosecutors said the 23-year-old mother, Katrina, and her 27-year-old boyfriend Jose forced her 5-year-old daughter to put uriine-soaked socks in her mouth and then pulled it out so aggressively that two of her teeth fell out.

But, unfortunately, that’s not the worst of it! Last week, the mother pleaded guilty to her role in the death of her 5-year-old daughter. Prosecutors said the mother pleaded guilty to a first-degree felony count of injury to a child causing serious bodily injury by omission, NYP reported…Click Here To Continue Reading>> …Click Here To Continue Reading>>

According to the court documents, the District Attorney’s Office agreed to reduce her sentence at 45 years if she pleaded guilty. Investigators revealed that the 5-year-old child, Mercedes, suffered weeks of extreme physical abuse that left her with cuts and bruises and caused her to lose large chunks of hair and several toenails.

Both the mother and her boyfriend abused the child for three weeks after she asked him to help discipline the girl. She claimed he forced her daughter to put dog fe-es in her mouth as he screamed at her. The mother also said that her boyfriend stuffed a sock soaked in ur-ne into the girl’s mouth and then pulled it out so aggressively that two of her teeth fell out, officials have said.

During an interview with investigators, the mother also said that her boyfriend repeatedly struck Mercedes with belts and his hands, which were covered with rings. READ FULL STORY HERE>>>CLICK HERE TO CONTINUE READING>>>

Her boyfriend claimed he only slapped the girl on the a-s and accused the victim’s 6-year-old sister of pulling out her hair. Ruiz, who pleaded not guilty to injury to a child causing serious bodily injury, is scheduled to go to trial in October.
