[Epoch Times July 11, 2024](Epoch Times reporter Huang Yuyan, Taichung, Taiwan) The “domestic blueberries” that have been loved by consumers in recent years were put on the shelves of Mia C’bon Zhongyou store on the 11th. In addition, 12 agricultural products from Da’an, Dajia, Xinshe, Miaoli, Xihu, and Houlong also jumped into the top supermarket channels for sale. Chen Rongjun, director of the Rural Water Conservation Agency’s Taichung branch, said that after the “hill blue” production season in Chiayi, domestic blueberries from the Zhongmiao and Miaohe areas will appear in July and August! The domestic blueberries grown in the rural areas of Zhongmiao are better than imported blueberries in taste, flavor, and freshness. He recommended the Young Farmers Alliance to go to the Taipei Dome to eat blueberry products and support professional baseball.

The Taichung Branch of the Rural Water Conservation Administration cooperated with Mia C’bon Zhongyou Store for the first time, with the “Two Rivers” of Da’an River and Dajia River nurturing the rural areas of Zhongmiao as the curatorial theme, using stories to promote agricultural products and seasonal topic products, and recommending high-quality products from Zhongmiao rural areas to everyone. At the press conference, Blueberry Baby and seven young farmers appeared in “Domestic Blueberry League” baseball uniforms and showed a cheerleading dance, full of energy.

Chen Rongjun said that in July and August, the domestic blueberry production season in Zhongmiao rural areas begins, and you can also eat domestic blueberries, popcorn, blueberry sparkling drinks and other products at Mia C’bon Zhongyou Store. On July 20 and 21, MLB (Major League of Domestic Blueberries) will go to the Chinese Professional Baseball All-Star Baseball Game, watch the game at the Taipei Dome, eat blueberries, and support professional baseball together. Then from September to December, the “Heaven Tea and Earth Wine” series theme will be selected, and the local wines and teas with stories in Zhongmiao rural areas will be selected, and the peripheral product combinations will be recommended to present the richest appearance.

Wu Yuanzhang, general manager of Taiwan Flower Biotechnology Co., Ltd., said that after nearly four years of cultivation, different varieties of Taiwan blueberries can adapt to the climate growth of different production areas at an altitude of 200 to 1,000 meters. Because foreign blueberries are grown in an extensive manner, Taiwan has optimized the growth of blueberries through soil improvement and variety cultivation, and the ratio of sourness and sweetness is better than that of imported blueberries. He said that in terms of price, although domestic blueberries are about 30% more expensive than imported blueberries, they are still competitive in terms of freshness and taste, and will continue to recruit young farmers and small farmers to join. Liu Honglin of Mia C’bon Supermarket said that Mia means “my” in Italian, and its homophony is similar to “small things” in Taiwanese, while C’bon means “beautiful” in French. We purchase goods from young farmers and small farmers at reasonable prices and support the “seasonal” use of ingredients, hoping to create an ecological balance of friendly farming and natural coexistence. In addition to blueberries, Mia C’bon will plan a series of blueberry products under the “Shan Shou Xian” brand, including beer, ice cream, sparkling drinks, jams, jellies, and popcorn, etc. We believe that the strong combination will achieve good results.

European Football Championship: UEFA punishes seven national associations for racism at the European Championship

The European Football Union (UEFA) has imposed fines on seven national associations following racist incidents at the European Championships in Germany. The association announced this in a statement. The associations affected are Albania, Hungary, Austria, Slovenia, Romania, Croatia and Serbia, as their fans were noticed for racist behaviour at matches in the tournament in June and July. In some cases, UEFA also imposed a ban on the sale of tickets for the next away match in a UEFA competition.

According to the association, Croatia must pay 50,000 euros, Romania 40,000 and Serbia, Slovenia, Albania and Hungary 30,000 each. Austria was fined 20,000 euros.

The punishment against Austria relates to the match against Poland on June 21, as the Austrian news agency APA reported, citing the national association. According to the report, it was about a banner held up in the fan block with the inscription “Defend Europe” – the title of a campaign by the right-wing extremist Identitarian Movement. The banner cannot be attributed to the organized fan scene of the national team, the Austrian association announced after the match.

The behaviour of Hungarian fans in the group match against the German national team on 19 June in Stuttgart was also investigated. UEFA did not provide any further details, particularly regarding the other penalised associations, in its statement.

The European Football Championship took place from June 14 to July 14 in ten German cities. The DFB team was eliminated from the competition in the quarter-finals against Spain – the eventual tournament winners.

yunhap news
There is a possibility that North Korea will strike at the origins of leaflet scattering by domestic civic groups, but the government does not plan to request that the groups refrain from scattering leaflets.

A Ministry of Unification official met with reporters at the government complex in Seoul on the 25th and said about concerns about North Korea’s artillery attack, “In the past, North Korea has threatened to strike at the source of anti-North Korea leaflets, so I think the relevant groups are aware of that situation.”

When asked whether they would request self-restraint in scattering leaflets due to concerns about the possibility of artillery fire from North Korea, a Unification Ministry official responded, “This has already been reported and the groups themselves are probably well aware of it,” reaffirming their existing policy of not directly requesting self-restraint. Meanwhile, Minister of National Defense Shin Won-sik said in an interview with Japan’s Yomiuri Shimbun the previous day, “Vice Department Director of the Workers’ Party of Korea Kim Yo-jong signaled a change in response in her statement on the 16th criticizing the scattering of leaflets by a South Korean civilian group,” and “There is a possibility that they will shoot down South Korean balloons used to scatter leaflets or fire or shell the bases from which the balloons are flying, so we are closely monitoring the situation.”
