The prosecution, led by Deputy Director Paula Akpoguma from the Ministry of Justice, presented five witnesses whose testimonies substantiated the case against the defendants beyond reasonable doubt. The tragic incident occurred on March 5, 2020, when the defendants lured the twins into a bush, mutilated them, and swiftly transported their body parts to a native doctor in Aguleri, Anambra State.
Justice Onome Marshal-Umukoro, presiding over the case, emphasized that the evidence, including a confessional statement from the first defendant, convincingly proved their guilt.
